Requesting this song in honor of my buddy Rob O'Brien. He died from overdose on this date last year.

After a lifetime of struggle with drugs and alcohol , first going to rehab at 16, he finally sought help at 50 on Dec 18, 2019. Doing something different saw him free of that shit for not quite 4yrs 5 mon. 

Sadly those demons remain with us, lurking in the background , he chose to entertain then act on a thought. crack cocaine mixed with fentanyl was determined to be the cause of death.

We originally had Noblesville tix for that fan club only tour, but our date was postponed dur to that damned virus.  The make up date was fantastic but bittersweet. It featured the new music plus the usual standards. No room for Gigaton.

This song means a lot to me, before his passing and especially after.  Its yet to be played live so this is a long shot.

To hear it on May 18, one month after I see 19 yrs sober , would mean the world to me.

its funny, I first saw the band in 94 in St Pete  sober. then 2010,2013, 2014, 2024. Sober.

    It's actually interesting that I was traveling to Pittsburgh on the day Chris died. I was going to a conference and woke up at home to hear the news, was devastated. I spent the 4hr drive there, all weekend, and drive back listening to every bit of music he ever made. It was heavy. It will be nice to be back there for the show, on that date, and hopefully this can happen.

    agreed on set placement. seems to be the new standard now, Ed opening the second set solo  it was a solo acoustic recording according to wiki.

    I like to follow the setlists on the Given To Fly section when possible. That would be awesome to get your song and think that last night of this leg, song one of encore would be phenomenal.

    what I can say , there was a time when the lyrical contact spoke to and for me in a deeply personal way. that largely ended with backspacer. 

    the back end of gigaton landed that way.  many on dark matter do too but I think because its released timed with rob's death , so I was ripped open emotionally.
