I've never been to a PJ show. What time can I estimate for the show to end on night 1 so I can schedule an Uber to get me home in advance? I live out near Rolesville and want to enjoy the show and a few beers and do not wish to drive home after drinking. 12:30am seem reasonable?

I think off of memory the latest the band was on stage last year was 11:30 with Seattle but I maybe wrong on that. I bet the average was around 11:10 offstage local time.

Scheduled Ubers if you read the fine print are not guaranteed and you’ll still end up with surge pricing. Drivers won’t accept the standard fare. Just a heads up.

Game 7 would be May 4th , Will depend on who wins between Washington and Montreal. If Washington wins games 1 and 2 are in Washington probably May 8 and 10. If Montreal wins then games 1 and 2 are in Carolina.

yikes, would hate to be stranded. Perhaps I should go with a taxi service instead. Also never used one of those either, maybe I'll call around today and see what they say. Are they more reliable about showing up? Not sure I'll be up for walking 20 miles home

The Trinity Rd entrance is where I usually see the Ubers and taxis line up. My suggestion is as soon as Mike hits that last riff in Yellow Ledbetter, start high tailing it to that location so you can be towards the front of the taxi line. I wouldn't even mess around with a scheduled uber -- they will cancel on you and it will be a nightmare to find them.

If you DO decide to go with a scheduled Uber, what I suggest is to have them meet you in Wade Park and allow enough time for you to walk to meet them.

This is last years second round for Carolina which this years date likely will lineup with. May 4th had first round games last year too. All depends on what makes it to game 7 I guess.

There is potential that it won't matter if they are home or away if they make it since the concert dates may land when games 4 and 5 are happening and the teams alternate home games.

I'm tempted do the same thing. With tickets already down the $325 I'm afraid I won't be able to resale if I upgrade.

I bite the bullet and prepaid for the Lenovo lot for N1 ($33.00). I might try Wade Park, Kingdom Way or the high school if I go N2 but that's a solo trip and I don't mind the walk.

BBQ
If you're looking for old school classic BBQ, Ole Time BBQ is close to the venue and is outstanding. My favorite is Clyde Cooper's downtown. Both will get you right.
If you're looking for a more modern take on BBQ, Long Leaf Swine is pretty good. Not a fan of The Pit but it's pretty popular.

Southern Soul Food
Big Eds, State Farmers Market Restaurant. Beasleys if looking for something more modern.

Seafood
St Roch's downtown is awesome. Kinduva creole joint with upscale cocktails, raw oysters. For traditional calabash style fried seafood, the Farmers Market Seafood Restaurant is a 10.

International
I posted this somewhere here already, buried deep in the history, but that intersection of Chatham and Maynard has a few dozen of the best little restaurants in the city: Jamaican, multiple regions of china, Himalayan, el Salvadorian, Iraqi bakery, many different regional Indian restaurants, etc.

If looking for something more specific lmk -- I know the area and food scene very well.

I think i've mentioned this, but in college I worked at Ole Time Barbecue, the food is legit if you're wanting that home-town vibe/authenticity.

Seems like the venue is on a bit of an island. Is there a watering hole walking distance? Suppose that would be a real show afterward if it's the only option.

Unfortunately no. Bru's is great before the show but after the show you have to go downtown, Hillsborough street, north hills..

Yeah that part of town with the Beer Garden is called Glenwood South -- was kinda fun back in the younger days but can be an absolute shit show. Tons of bars on both sides of that stretch of Glenwood, all of which have knuckleheads that wanna fight.

If you're going all the way to Glenwood after the show you may as well go a little further and go downtown:

Slm's - old school rock and roll dive bar
Our House - not as many taps as the Beer Garden, maybe 40 handles? will probably have live music.
Foundation - great cocktails...downstairs basement feel.
Ruby Deluxe - great little dive bar
Raleigh Times - great outdoor and rooftop seating with lots of space inside too.
Landmark - great little bar with lots of outside seating

Or you can go to Hillsborough Street -- Mitch's or Players Retreat.
