    there are so many so i'd thought i'd go with something recent :)


    light green to green, dark green, brown
    every life is falling down
    brown to black, its coming back
    dies to be part of the ground
    seed to seedling, root to stem
    eyes, no eyes, there's no difference
    every life is looking in
    swallowing seeds on my death bed
    dig a hole in the garden

    So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.

    one of my favs also, along with the last verse of Black, that "I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, i know you'll be a star, in somebody else's sky but why, why, whyyyyyyyyyyy can't it be, can't it be miiiine". Sweeet!!

    i like the opening verse to man of the hour, especially the line "a snow flake falls in may." it comes from out of nowhere and it's a picture of loneliness and even beauty. like the verse in black, where he sings the line "how quick the sun can fade away". i love the imagery.

    OMG. i can't believe i typed that wrong! "how quick the sun can...drop away..." sorry about that. i should know. i listened to that on headphones going to and from school when i was in grade 10, 16 y/o. plus that's the best line in the song, for me.

    that line alone would have made me think ed is the greatest songwriter of all time.

    I've always thought eddie was the master at using words or strings of words that no other writer could put in a song, much less sing, i.e.:

    Enmity gauged (whaaaat???)
    you underestimate me (perfect enunciation-my favorite line ever)
    all encompassing trip! (a tongue-twister only he can pull off)
