  • there are so many so i'd thought i'd go with something recent :)

light green to green, dark green, brown
    every life is falling down
brown to black, its coming back
dies to be part of the ground
seed to seedling, root to stem
eyes, no eyes, there's no difference
    every life is looking in
swallowing seeds on my death bed
dig a hole in the garden
  • "An empty shell seemed so easy to crack,
Got all these questions-don't know who i could even ask,
So i'll just lie alone and wait for the dream,
Where i'm not ugly and you're looking at me..."
Situations get fucked up and turned around sooner or later...
  • i got two

    "rise, life is in motion
    i'm stuck in line
oh rise, you can't be neutral
    on a moving train"

"at home and drawing pictures of mountain tops, with him on top
lemon yellow sun, arms raised in a v
and the dead lay in pools of maroon below"
    BANZÄÄÄ

When he was six, he believed that the moon overhead followed him
By nine, he deciphered the illusion, trading magic for fact, no trade-backs
So this is what it's like to be an adult?
If he only knew now what he knew then
  • don't let the light escape from me
don't let the darkness swallow me
So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.
    That is why I'm singing
  • "i know someday you'll have a beautiful life, i know you'll be a star
in somebody else's sky, but why
why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine?"
    -Black

    that or...

"we all got scars, they should have 'em too..." - Whipping

    I also love:

I swallowed my breath when deep i was diving..."

    stunned by my own reflection
looking back sees me to clearly
and I thought Id never go there again
not unlike a friend that polietly drags you down
Like Pilate I have a dog
  • The one that really touches me "First he was stripped then he was stabbed by faceless men well fuckers, HE STILL STANDS and he still gives his love he just gives it away, the love he recieves is the love that is saved, and sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky, a human being that was given to fly"
  • there's so many but....

    i know i was born
and i know that i'll die
    the in between is mine
    there's much more than this
  • "i hold your head deep in my arms
my fingertips they close your eyes
off you dream, my little child
there's a sun around the bend
there's a sun around the bend
all the evenings close like this
all these moments that i've missed
please forgive me, won't you, dear?
please forgive and let me share...
    with you around the bend"

"those who dance are called insane by those who don't hear the music"
  • "She once believed in every story he had to tell.
One day she stiffened. Took the other side.
Empty stares from each corner of a shared prison cell.
One just escapes. One's left inside the well.
And he who forgets will be destined to remember."

    and

"Hear my name. Take a good look. This could be the day.
Hold my hand. Lie beside me. I just need to say.
I could not take just one day I know when I would not ever touch you, hold you, feel you in my arms.... Never Again!"

yeah my gf just broke up with me and i kinda saw it coming, :(.
I remember when I thought i knew everything..
Lets say knowledge is a tree,
It's growing up just like me.
  • i like the opening verse to man of the hour, especially the line "a snow flake falls in may." it comes from out of nowhere and it's a picture of loneliness and even beauty. like the verse in black, where he sings the line "how quick the sun can fade away". i love the imagery.
...caught a bolt of lightning, cursed the day he let it go...
  • OMG. i can't believe i typed that wrong! "how quick the sun can...drop away..." sorry about that. i should know. i listened to that on headphones going to and from school when i was in grade 10, 16 y/o. plus that's the best line in the song, for me.
...caught a bolt of lightning, cursed the day he let it go...

My favorite line has to be...
    "caught a bolt of lightning,
cursed the day he let it go"

that line alone would have made me think ed is the greatest songwriter of all time.

It hits me like nothing else ever will.

  • every grain of sand equals, every star and everyone

i remember when, swore i knew everything, some say knowledge is a tree, its growing up just like me

two birds is what they'll see
    getting lost upon their way
    wind rolls by
    low light
    eyesight
    low light
    i need the light
i'll find my way from wrong
what's real, our dream i see

    Low Light
    Somtimes i know, sometimes i rise,sometimes i fall,sometimes i dont,sometimes i cringe,somtimes i live sometimes i walk,sometimes i kneel,somtimes i speek of nothing at all,sometimes i reach to myself dear god

  • I've always thought eddie was the master at using words or strings of words that no other writer could put in a song, much less sing, i.e.:

    Enmity gauged (whaaaat???)
you underestimate me (perfect enunciation-my favorite line ever)
all encompassing trip! (a tongue-twister only he can pull off)
across the waste of space and fields of air I glide (beautiful)

    Didn't Jeff write that line??

  • There are so many, I will just post the ones from songs I have been listening to a lot lately.

*(the one that is in my signature below from Elderly Woman...small town)

*and if hope could grow from dirt like me
    it can be done
won't let the light escape from me
won't let the darkness swallow me
    yeah!

*a snowflake falls in may....that is just so beautiful

    *bee girl, you're gonna die
you don't wanna be famous, you wanna be shy
do your dances alone in your room
becoming a star will become your doom
bee girl, be a girl... :):)
    bee girl, be a girl...
you know time is long, and life is short
begin to live while you still can
    believe in nothing, believe me
those who can be trusted can change their mind
    the anxious is the present
unwrap your gifts, take your time
    everything you imagined
needn't be stuck in your mind
    bee girl, be a girl...
    bee girl, be a girl...
    thank you

  • "my lips are shakin' my nails are bit off
been a month since i've heard myself talk
all the advantage this life's got on me
picture a cup in the middle of the sea "

"it's been about three days now since i've been aground
no longer overwhelmed and it seems so simple now
it's funny when things change so much
it's all a state of mind"

vacate is the word...vengeance has no place on me or her
cannot find the comfort in this world
    artificial tear...vessel stabbed...next up, volunteers
    vulnerable, wisdom can't adhere...

i cannot stop the thought...i'm running in the dark...
coming up a which way sign...all good truants must decide...
oh, stripped and sold, mom...auctioned forearm...
    and whiskers in the sink...

i swear i recognize your breath
memories like fingerprints are slowly raising
me, you wouldn't recall, for i'm not my former
it's hard when, you're stuck upon the shelf
i changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate
perhaps that's what no one wants to see
    i just want to scream...hello...
my god its been so long, never dreamed you'd return
but now here you are, and here i am

and so on and so on. i could go on forever. All PJ lyrics to me have so much meaning
"no longer overwhelmed and it seems so simple now"
