Only toppings I like if any pepperoni or mushrooms that’s about it but 95.5% of the time I’ll order a plain pie
Any combination of sausage, mushrooms, onions, green pepper, pepperoni, or Italian beef is fine by me.

    Deep dish spinach is outstanding!

Peppers, mushrooms and onions is our go to. Along with a grandma pie to have leftovers. We skip the meat most of the time as it gets too greasy and my stomach says no to pepperoni. I am too old to eat that stuff! There is a local place that makes a sopressata pie with hot honey. It is delicious but I pay for it after eating. I dig the deep dish with sausage when in Chicago. It gets a bad rap, but it's good. Even if it takes an hour to get your food and you take half of it home.
Funny as we get older, we just can't eat the "good stuff" anymore. My friend ordered chicken wings at the Blackhawks game last night. I indulged on 2 wings, knowing damn well I would be running for the Tums when I got back home. Hahaha

Yep. My kids love wings, and we have a great place not too far away. They do not seem to bother me. Basically deli meats other than turkey and chicken are a no for me. No more fried food, which means no more parmigianas, cutlets, onion rings, or calamari. And I rarely get food at events unless I am starving. Can't remember the last cheeseburger I had. But I am told it is ok to get a hot dog with sauerkraut since it is fermented LOL. Back to pizza, we keep it simple, most times with no meat. And hey if you enjoy a Hawaiian or a salad pizza, no judging. I have had some good "flatbreads" with innovative toppings. Black olives, sun dried tomatoes, arugula, and even sardines. But it is not pizza.
This conversation should be in my "retirement " thread. Hahaha

Anyway, I fucking love hotdogs. But after my heart issues I was told to limit my hotdog intake to maybe 1 every 2 months. Ugh

But hotdogs, as I have aged, are one of those foods that I will certainly "pay for", if I have one. They destroy my stomach.
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

Agreed. Or an 55+ thread. Hot dogs got me through COVID. We need a hot dog thread. And it is ok to have ketchup. Do what you like.

the diet Dr P? I always prefered diet cola's.....the reg ones were always too syrupy for my liking. I dont drink the diet stuff much either as its not great with the fake sugar

Are you pointing out that im gorging on a meat travaganza then think a diet cola is gonna save my ass?? Thats not the logic behind it, again for me its preferred taste

Its not. There are some days when an ice cold coke zero and a slice hits the spot. I maybe drink 4 sodas a year. If I drink a Dr. Pepper it is not diet. Too bad the chili dog spot near the capitol theater moved. Two dogs and a Dr. Pepper were perfect after a show.

Texas chili. They moved from a dumpy place around the corner of the cap to a more fancy place on main st. Not walkable depending in your state of mind. The other place was Hubbas, which I have never been to but may be on the radar for the next cap show.

Just asked my buddy who knows him too, it’s called the dog den in white plains… I actually shortchanged him, he’s 7-1”… here he is… so if you are Yao Ming or Wemby you can eat for free. He’s a fellow Croat, nicest guy in the world.. I gotta visit and say hello one day.

Pretty decent for a chain. Extra cheese & Italian meatball well-done from Ledo’s.

My sister and her boyfriend are visiting me. I took them to John’s Pizzeria on Bleecker Street. They are often voted one of the best pizzas in NYC. I don’t go there very much because a lot of tourists crowd it up. But it never disappoints.

I knew it was John's the second I saw those photos. You should also try Arturo's. Right near the Angelika.

Thanks. That’s even closer to where I live. I will definitely give them a try.
