Thanks everyone!  Kicking myself in the butt for not getting a Strat sooner.  So far I Like the sound of it way better than a tele.
Love that color combo on a Strat. You really can't beat the ergonomics of the Stratocaster, either. Whether you're sitting down or standing with it strapped on, it just feels good. No sharp edges or corners digging in to you and the controls are so conveniently placed it is very intuitive to change settings on the fly. Leo got a lot right with that design.

Walked into my local music shop today with no intention of buying anything & walked out with Les Paul Junior 2015 100th anniversary.  P90 pick up is not a Gibson & swapped out with a Dimarzio & this one beautiful sounding axe Was a bit apprehensive about having only the single pick-up & you get such great tones

That's a strat for you!  Do you have a noise suppressor pedal? Maybe turn volume down on guitar but up on amp too.

You're grounding the issue when you touch the strings.  Maybe it's a bad plug.  What's your power supply?

Are you running a compressor pedal? Did this just start recently?

It's probably the daisy chain tbh.  I would either change power source and/or work with a noise suppressor.

A power supply that isolates each pedal.  They're expensive though.

Does it do this when you go direct or only when using pedals? I remember having this problem a while ago, can't remember exactly what I did, but I think I removed one of my overdrive pedals from the board, and it seemed to eliminate the buzz.

If I were you, I would start with a power strip with circuit protection and surge suppression and plug your amp and effects pedals into it.

Guitar Center sells relatively inexpensive LiveWire power strips and they work well. One of those eliminated a lot of noise from my guitar rig.

Also, check your house wiring to make sure the outlet you're using is properly grounded and doesn't have reversed polarity. I have seen that even in newly built homes.

I personally haven't noticed my 1991 pedal being noisy, but I honestly don't use it that much. It is on the board, but I prefer my Crayon pedal for a bit of overdrive.

I have not heard of anyone else having a problem with the 1991 pedal but unfortunately I think I got a dud.  Bass knob fell off the first time and I twisted it and still causes me problems.  It's very frustrating.

    Which crayon? JHS or Electro-Harmonix?

Electro. I didn't know there was another one, until you asked. I really dig that pedal for giving me just a little umph. I'm sure many pedals can do the same thing, but this is the first one that worked exactly as I'd hoped.
Sux about your 91. Wonder if you could write them about it?

Something I never heard about but I came across it the other day. I got a new Chase Bliss Blooper and put it next to my Zvex Distortron, and it made  the Distortron sound horrendous. Tons of noise and static to where it was unusable. Everything went to normal after separating them on my board.

Found a good deal on an ESP 400-Series neck so I turned this Fender into a Partscaster. The neck is from 1991 and feels like an old, comfortable pair of shoes. Totally transformed this guitar.

The nice thing about Fender guitars is that I can swap it back to stock in probably 10 minutes or so.
