I agree. I used to like him, but he has morphed into an intolerable, arrogant loud mouth.

Always been that. I guess he is just now saying stuff you don’t like.
Nope. He changed his personality. He used to be funny and more affable. Over the years he has become more and more full of himself abd like a grumpy old man.

He gets attacked here because he speaks out about liberalism gone too far on a few topics. Dissent is not permitted. Dems version of R politics.

“”Used to be funny?” He recently had a #1 book. In a climate with tv in significant decline, hbo decided to write him another $20 million check.

But he is “full of himself.” A “blowhard.” “An old man” Only because he refuses to bow to the extremist views trying to take over the dem party.

Attack those who are different from us. Whose playbook is that?

Yes Tim S, since you asked, if I see comments I believe are false, misleadingly attacking, I will supply facts to balance the debate.

You're whole thesis is wrong. Democrats policies aren't the main problem, it's the takeover of how people get their news. It's the lies and disinformation. People are literally being brainwashed.

I've been seeing people say that about Bill for a few years. I've been watching him pretty religiously for a long time.

I just don't see that change. I don't always agree with everything he says but I just don't see him as changing much.

Where is the dirt bag today? Where might he be? Oh yea, golfing. On a work day because all of the demands of signing EOs has been so exhausting. That and talking about a bag of different things and tariffs with a list.

Is that 3400 over two days? Roughly 8%. But it’s okay because Elongitaint still has $356B and Bozos still has $195B. Nothing to see here.

Wtf? Stop making insane assumptions. I said why I don't like him anymore, and I meant it. You have absolutely NO clue how I feel about the actual opinions that he expresses.

"dissent is not permitted". Who comes up with this bullshit? Everyone has their opinions, and if someone says something I disagree with, I'm allowed to say so. We're not saying he's not allowed to say it. Or that he's no longer a liberal or some bullshit like MAGA does. ever hear of the acronym LINO? ME NEITHER. Cuz we don't do that. MAGA does. every claim is a bloody projection.

I see the same people claiming nonsense like "dissent is not permitted in the dem party" at the same time crying that they can't come together as a team like R's do. Decide which one it is, and we can discuss. Otherwise you're just tossing shit on the wall. I've never seen one person make so many contradicting claims in my life.

So many bootlickers still thinking this guy has a damn clue. Trump is the greatest cult leader of all time. It’s remarkable.

Truly amazing, isn't it?  It's quintessential cult behavior whereby some people go so deep into a belief or so by a beguiling figure they lose all sense of logic and critical thinking.
I suppose it's also similar to someone who is in an abusive relationship who stays with it either because it is what they are used to, or they have false hopes that it will turn out well.  They defend the abuser as a way to avoid have to admit being duped or having to change perspective.  The psychology of dysfunction runs deep and breaking the pattern is very difficult.

Another thing that happens (and we've seen this happen here repeatedly), is that instead of dealing with the problems of being misled and lied to or being abused, the victim will change the subject or detract through whataboutism counter-accusations.

You're whole thesis is wrong. Democrats policies aren't the main problem, it's the takeover of how people get their news. It's the lies and disinformation. People are literally being brainwashed.

And social media is a cesspool of lies and misinformation. Republicans are the best at exploiting that. The Democrats just can't compete.

And Bill Maher has changed. He's always been an asshole, but now he is a total out of touch rich old prick. A number one book and succesful tv show is not evidence that he's right or the same guy. Audiences and demographics change.

Geez, the man has been attacking the far left for almost his entire career.

The thesis is Bill Maher gets shouted down when he doesn’t agree with the far left view. I posted a video of Maher here yesterday, where he politely discussed mid east problems with the ladies on the view. A very polite discussion, and according to the video, they had no objections to what he had to say. Someone else posted a video meant criticize Bill Maher because the video was a rank out contest with comedian Bill Barr. It was two comedians ranking on each other. I raised the point that they agreed on a solution to the mid east problem.

The result of both videos - zero engagement on this forum, other than personal attacks for supporting negotiation.

Just like far left opinions on here. Try to prevent someone from raising objections for who the Democratic Party chooses to defend. It’s happening right in front of our eyes on the forum you like to post on. Whether you choose to see it, that’s entirely up to you. That is your freedom, but please don’t interpret that an accuracy.
Maybe you haven’t noticed, but you only reply to comments where you feel offended.

Only is a strong word. Are you prepared to support the accuracy of your comment?

Did you make any attempt to demonstrate that or is it yet another low effort attack? Did anyone else post supporting Maher? If so, I missed it in the sea of criticism of him. Someone else originally  brought up my comments were like Maher yesterday. Was that you? I agreed and believe it’s a discussion worth having.
So maybe I offended you with my comment? I know I’ve objectively and dryly responded to you several
    times with no response.

Maher on his show essentially is just reactionary and pulls content from political “trends” on social media. This has turned him into more of a right wing mouth piece. That Maher is different on the view tells me I’m accurate on this take.

Offended when I was told “it was not meant as a compliment?” No, I actually enjoyed the comparison because it was true. I have said I stopped watching Maher for five years and only started again after Harris lost

do you watch him? He is what he always was politically. Very much a democrat but against the far left of the party. I strongly contend that it’s the party that has changed in a much more significant manner.

Contend it all you want, but the republican control of the narrative has pushed the notion that dems have gone too far left despite evidence to the contrary. It’s done as a scare tactic.

Wtf? Stop making insane assumptions. I said why I don't like him anymore, and I meant it. You have absolutely NO clue how I feel about the actual opinions that he expresses.

I was relying to all of the prior quotes.
I was lining up the quotes, re quoting them, line by line, with evidence to the contrary of the prior quotes.

If you hate old men so much, perhaps refrain from attending future classic rock concerts?

(that’s sarcasm, you’re allowed to use that to put down old men and I’m not. Got it.)

Just look at Fox News website today. Nothing about the crashing markets.

I am talking about Maher commenting the left has gone way too far left. Who exactly is Maher trying to scare? He is a hysterical comedian to his fans, and has spoken against the far left for decades.

there are two significant topics the he has discussed that I agree with. DEI policies used in a harmful manner, and elevating a terrorist nation who is sending their residents and sympathizers here to disrupt education and to protest violently on American soil. That’s a huge move in an extreme left manner that he talks about and i agree with.

war has two sides doing terrible things. You and a couple others use bullying tactics to pretend only one side does bad things. Give the Hamas supporters their immigration hearings. I want to know exactly what happened.

When I say my political party has gone too far on the Hamas issue my general concern is the support for Hamas, what that group represents, and the culture within their population that they enhance, including how they treat women and other people.

Regarding the detainments, I have significant concerns with some of these detainments. I really want to know what these people did. And if they’re on a student visa my understanding is They don’t get much leeway. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m willing to watch the due process to find out

I support not committing genocide. I don't get to decide who lives or dies, which is why I have always been against the death penalty. I'm consistent in my views.

I don't support any specific country or its specific government. I know you find that hard to understand, separating government from its people. I support people and their right to life and freedom. Jew, Muslim, Christian, Atheist, Buddhist, etc etc. I know it's difficult for someone who thinks they are the on the right team to understand. I'm on team HUMANITY.

Statement from Nintendo: Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged.

You are a good answer to that question, You don’t allow dissent. You continually use curse words and words of hate and anger and accusations of lying  to bully against comments that you disagree with.

You play strawman against arguments with baseless attacks that have nothing to do with what I would like to see happen to solve problems. You only want more problems, based on continually throwing around words like genocide and apartheid. Both sides do that crap in the mid east.  the only answer is peace negotiation. Can’t even say that on amt without getting cursed out.

You openly support a country whose culture and leadership treats women and gays like crap, force non conformists to live in segregated areas and murder those trying to peacefully protest. Yet support violent protests in my country and attack an actual American who was outraged to see violence on manhattan streets with classes and once in a lifetime graduation cancelled and children spit on.

war has two sides doing terrible things. You and a couple others use bullying tactics to pretend only one side does bad things. Give the Hamas supporters their immigration hearings. I want to know exactly what happened.

That’s where I’m at I couldn’t have said it better!

"dissent is not permitted". Who comes up with this bullshit? Everyone has their opinions, and if someone says something I disagree with, I'm allowed to say so. One of your best comments. Staying with facts, expressing a solid opinion.

war is hell and it takes two hells to create a war. It’s more than just Hamas that creates problems for Palestine. There is something in their culture, how they treat people not in their exclusive club, and significant neighbors who should be their allies make every excuse not to help them.

But, The only way to end the war IMO is a negotiation table where both sides give up things they don’t want to cede and agree to peace.

Friday's 2,231-point drop is missing, lands in 3rd. I can excuse the Covid drops. But not this week.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Do I openly support Iraq and their "culture", when being against your war criminal country buddy W Bush starting a war against the country and murdering thousands of civilians?

And, sounds to me like you are then openly supporting this culture - isn't that just plain weird:

A forensic doctor who examined the bodies of some of the 15 paramedics and Palestinian rescue workers shot dead by Israeli forces and buried in a mass grave in southern Gaza has said there is evidence of execution-style killing, based on the “specific and intentional” location of shots at close range.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society, the Palestinian Civil Defense and UN employees were on a humanitarian mission to collect dead and wounded civilians outside the southern city of Rafah on the morning of 23 March when they were killed and then buried in the sand by a bulldozer alongside their flattened vehicles, according to the UN.
