Interesting....I've been seeing reports of massive supply but not sure if accurate or not.

    From HCR's newsletter last night:

"But perhaps the biggest hit Musk has taken lately is over his Tesla car brand. On February 6, Musk’s younger brother Kimbal, who sits on Tesla’s board, sold more than $27 million worth of shares in the company. Tesla chair Robyn Denholm sold about $43 million worth of Tesla stock in February and recently sold another $33 million. Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja has sold $8 million worth over the past 90 days. Yesterday, board member James Murdoch sold just over $13 million worth of stock.

Fred Lambert of Electrek, which follows the news about electric vehicles and Tesla, noted that Tesla stock dropped 15% yesterday, “down more than 50% from its all-time high just a few months ago.” “Tesla insiders are unloading,” he concluded."

Would I vandalize the car personally? No, I don't need the trouble.

Do I laugh when I see it, absolutely.

If you haven't invested in a sticker to throw on the car distancing yourself from that Nazi, it's kinda on you at this point.

It's graffiti, not the end of the world.

I'm certainly not wasting any of my limited concern or empathy on Tesla owners.  It's unfortunate I suppose, but I have bigger problems.

it's weird to be ok with:

    1. vandalism in any form
    2. vandalism because you think they are the enemy
    3. vandalism when you think they are the enemy but they are in fact a democrat who bought the car before they knew the owner was a nazi

It's not on the owner for leaving their vehicle free of bumper stickers. Most people don't think about this stuff nearly as much as we do (which you could argue is part of the problem).

People should either do something that makes a difference (even if that means not buying a Tesla) or just complain about it to the void (like we're all doing here). There are far more constructive things to do than vandalize someone's property.

There's that, as well. I don't condone it but I don't weep for them...I don't have the capacity to be empathetic to those going through such inconvenience. And if I did, I'd pick someone else.

Two people in my life have Teslas: an apolitical cousin (probably leans a bit left) and a formerly-right-now-left-anti-trump friend. Both were purchased before Elon became this. These are probably two fairly typical Tesla drivers.

I don't demand people put those stickers on their Teslas but I do appreciate it and when I see one it'll give me a little smile.

🇸🇪🇸🇪Swedish electric car maker Polestar is offering Tesla owners 5000 Euros to break up with Elon and buy a new Polestar 3.  The campaign is called “Tesla Conquest” and the number of orders placed has been “incredible.”🇸🇪🇸🇪

California's Highway Patrol’s investigation into a November Cybertruck crash in Piedmont where three college kids died is finding two very Tesla problems: the vehicle immediately caught fire, and its doors would not open.

Note on Musk’s latest vaporware: He claims he plans to be on the “next manned” Starship launch. But Starship has never launched with human crew. For good reason: Starship has never had a human-survivable launch in eight tries. The eighth launch of Saturn V landed on the moon and safely returned its crew to earth, while Starship hasn’t even reached low-earth orbit, something real actual rocket scientists have been doing routinely since the 1950s.

My thoughts too. Seems really odd that people are not only okay, but are getting a little enjoyment out of this.
Burning down property because you don't like something unrelated to the owner will never make sense to me. Even burning down Elon's own personally Tesla wouldn't make a difference.
And even if it's a newly purchased car, so what? Maybe they found that to be what they thought was the best option for their budget, I'm not going to expect someone to make one of the biggest purchases of your life (the only thing more expensive than your car is your house) based on the political views of the guy who started the company. Maybe I'll switch from Mr. Pibb to Dr Pepper if I have strong issues with them, but that's about the extent.

The other thing about the vandalism and this thread is playing out similarly, is that it a) detracts from the real issues and b) brings sympathy to the bad guys.

Ugly ass trucks that catch fire and are associated with the man that's actively destroying America...and vandals are pretty much saying "here; 'media,' have this distraction on a silver platter."
