Can you guys be more specific about what you liked? About the movie are there full performances of songs that are not from TSRTS movie? Thanks

This is a documentary explaining where they all came from leading to how they came together to become led zeppelin. Not a concert film like TSRTS.  The movie goes through putting the band together,  making of  zep I and II and basically stops the story there because by that time they had in fact become zeppelin that we know now  as one of the biggest bands on the planet, still in my considered opinion. Band interviews watching unearthed performance footage(1st ever in Scandinavia as the yardbirds , fulfilling that contract)  and interspersed throughout , where appropriate, a rare interview with Bonzo. Which none of the remaining 3 through either remembered or knew existed. The look of surprise on pagey hearing some of that and the joy in hearing his voice, plant , you could tell is still impacted by that loss. JPJ bragging on his boy Bonzo.

And the music that was played on theater surround sound is worth the price of admission alone without the visuals  to me.

Just got back from seeing it in IMAX. Wow! That was amazing. The audience all applauded at the end. The sound was incredible. Can you imagine paying $4.00 for a ticket to see Led Zeppelin. Also, that first show with all the kids holding their ears. Why were so many children there? Jimmy, Robert, and John seemed to genuinely enjoy telling their stories and seems to have a lot of affection for each other. How great would it be if all their reminiscing would inspire them to play a few shows together. Can you imagine. I would pay anything and travel anywhere to see that.
Great to hear 😎 thanks for the info will def have to check it out

I almost went to the London shows a few years back. Really had to resist lol

I did see Page with the Firm years ago and have seen Plant a few times so I guess I'm lucky there.

Heard a commercial on the radio today that the movie’s coming back to theatres, still buzzing from seeing it the first time, lol.

No question about a repeat viewing, really just to hear that White Summer/Black Mountainside with the crappy video. If they don’t put out a soundtrack could they at least release that as an RSD single or something, please, lol?

    Complete BBC sessions....

40 years ago I had this as a standalone boot on vinyl. Was recorded at the Playhouse theater on June 27th 1969 for a later air date of sometime in August I believe maybe October. That bootle sounded really good. Lost that copy much much later when I got back into final I don't know five six years ago I found another bootleg copy sounded the same so my memory. Then I ran across the complete BBC Sessions which had that as an official version from that same recording. So it's out there and I don't think you need the soundtrack.

It's listed here simply as white summer. But it is in fact white summer / black Mountainside

Cool, thanks for the info! It was the only performance in the movie I didn’t immediately recognize, lol.

I grabbed The Yardbirds’ Little Games album on iTunes the other day and the studio version of White Summer was gorgeous!

Thinking tonight might be viewing number two, lol.

Zeppelin is fun to dive into. A lot of their more 'obscure' stuff is just fantastic. I never found Zep 3 on vinyl yet. One of my favorites.
I did have the song remains the same and got rid of it. I remember not loving it.
    Whatever!

Just put on Zep 2. It's the best record they ever made IMHO. And might be might my desert island disc. I think it captures them at their best, the guitar work by Jimmy is insane on that record. You do not skip any songs.

I fell asleep during it in at the cinema. Not that it was bad or anything. It just wasn't a "cinema" type of thing in my opinion. Like The Beatles Anthology or PJ20, I think it's more of an at-home watch. That's cool it's coming to Netflix.
