if it's on No Code it has to be good. and Sometimes is. without a doubt. love this song as a Live opener. short but sweet
Sometimes
Large fingers pushing paint.
You're god and you've got big hands.
Colors blend. The challenges you give man.
Seek my part, devote myself.
My small self. Like a book amongst the many on a shelf.
Sometimes I know, sometimes I rise.
Sometimes I fall, sometimes I don't.
Sometimes I cringe, sometimes I live.
Sometimes I walk, sometimes I kneel.
Sometimes I speak of nothing at all.
Sometimes I reach to myself, dear god.

MUCH needed thread. Good lookin out PhillyPJ!
Yeah, what an awesome way to kick off an awesome album!! What an awesome opener, in general. Hell yeah. Sometimes is a gorgeous song. There may not be a whole of a lot of lyrics to it, but they are still incredibly powerful and moving. I love em. That bass line kicks ass too!!! The song is just sooo chill. It sets a great mood for No Code.
Oooo and the Boston 3 acoustic version!!?I was SO happy to see this one on that set.
Once again I'm gonna have to mention Ed's voice cuze man oh man, it just shines on this song.¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤

Probably Pj's most sensitive song. It's a keeper."Life Is one crushing defeat after another, until you just wish Flanders was dead!"

Great song, it was the opener on my very first PJ bootleg (6/29/00) and it just grabbed me, love it since..."I have wished for so long, how I wish for you today"--Long Road0

Yes it may be quiet in a generic sense but it has alot of tension in it, that is the key for good music in my opinion. It has a real and deep purpose and for that it is a cherished song for me. As one writer put it, Eddie is not striving for musical brilliance as much as spiritual innocence. Or something like that0
