Performing? Odd description. Why not “committing?” Lack of criminal convictions? Was the perp on stage or set?Jearlpam0925 said:Certainly a stretch that's for sure. I'm sure he'd rather have his son not dead as opposed to his other son, in whatever capacity and effort that takes. I'm sure he's also not happy of what his currently undead son did either, but boy.... yeesh.
Certainly wouldn't compare Andy's direct actions to that of Kareem Hunt or Ty Hill beating women, or Deshaun Watson or Justin Tucker performing sexual assault.
Dads and parents do weird things when it comes to their kids. See Biden, Hunter. Really? Enabling your kids to sell hard drugs, be addicts and critically injuring a child is not as bad as Watson hitting on women and making lewd advances? I would disagree.Jearlpam0925 said:Certainly a stretch that's for sure. I'm sure he'd rather have his son not dead as opposed to his other son, in whatever capacity and effort that takes. They literally ran a drug mart out of Andy’s house. That’s the judge’s words at the sentencing. Would you know if your kids were distributing out of your house? I think I would.Jearlpam0925 said:Lol boy...I assume your tongue can touch your back because that is quite the stretch0 -

He was drinking at a team facility too, before getting behind the wheel & critically injuring that little girl.mrussel1 said:
Hired his degenerative son who had already served time for drug felonies and operating a “drug mart” out of Andy’s home along with his other son. Then Andy hires him on the coaching staff and he eventually critically injures a little girl while driving intoxicated.Jearlpam0925 said:And wait what'd Reid do? I know what Hunt and Hill did, but other than bundlerooski being on TV too much? That’s terrible decision making by Reid and he bares responsibility. Why did his son get a second chance and some players don’t? Would this guy have a job in the league if not for his father? I couldn’t hire him at my company as he could never be bonded.
The victim's family wanted Brett Reid to stand trial, but he struck a deal w/ prosecutors IIRC; the recommended sentence was 7 years, the prosecution suggested 4, and the judge gave him 3. Then the governor commuted his prison sentence.
What a country.
Imagine being the family of the little girl who was left with severe brain injuries.

The NFL has more f you money than anyone, you can bet they wanted this one to go away as quickly as possible.0 -

I didn't realize he got a commutation. I mean it makes sense, considering the extremely important civic contributions Brett has made to the city.Merkin Baller said:

Listen, I am fully in support of second chances, even for people convicted of crimes (and several of the examples called out there have no indictments, let alone convictions), but that is AFTER you serve your time, sentence, punishment, etc. From both a Christian and historic US culture perspective, redemption is part of the American story.0 -

The commutation was gross, but unsurprising ... the scales of justice tipping towards the wealthy & powerful is as much a part of the American story as anything else.mrussel1 said:

I think this is the general sentiment this year, and I'm ok with that.

I really don't care. I guess I am maybe pulling for the Eagles because no threepeat. I don't really have any major dislike for either team or fanbase.0

I don't hate the Chiefs, if anything I tip my cap to them, they've earned their station. I don't hate the Eagles like so many other people do either... I'm pulling for them by default only because I'm sick of seeing the Chiefs in every God damn commercial. I also have a blast every time I go to Philly, so I have a soft spot for the city.
As a Pats fan, I'm supposed to be rooting against the Chiefs as the next dynasty, but that doesn't bother me... nothing's going to take away the joy I experienced in those moments, and if the Chiefs surpass NE, so be it.0 -
As a 49ers fan, losing 2 Super bowls in recent years to KC stings. I will be pulling for Philly, but other than SF, I don't generally root for any other NFC teams.0
