The Ramada by Wyndham Raleigh is now sold out for the days around the PJ shows. :-)2011: Vancouver

2018: Seattle 1 & 2

2024: Vancouver 1 & 2, Portland, Seattle 1 & 2
2025: Nashville 1 & 2, Raleigh 1 & 20 -
Raleigh is very spread out and the venue is anyway outside of the city so folks can save and stay just about anywhere within a certain radius. I booked the Red Roof in north Raleigh for 80$ a night, free parking. Only 4 miles from the venue.#Grievance20250

Looks like the Four Points is sold out both nights too.
EDIT: It actually looks like there is availability but they're requiring a two-night stay minimum. It's a little more expensive than the Ramada but at least there are a few restaurants and bars nearby.Post edited by PrezIntense on1996 Charlotte

Assuming there's no other major event going on in that timeframe, these are good signs re demand.PrezIntense said:Looks like the Four Points is sold out both nights too.

So true -- those who got the Ramada will enjoy being able to walk back to the hotel after the show without dealing with Uber hell. But those who want to still hang out after would be better off staying downtown.Shaindli1 said:Raleigh is very spread out and the venue is anyway outside of the city so folks can save and stay just about anywhere within a certain radius. If you're at the Red Roof you're right by Crabtree Valley mall so lots of food options. There's a good little sushi joint down Glenwood called Sushi Mon -- small place with a limited menu but very good (a little pricey). North Hills shopping mall is the next exit down and has, in my opinion, better dining options than Crabtree. Lake Boone is between your hotel and the venue, and has some good dining options -- Chicken Salad Chick, Chubby's Tacos, Village Deli, Sushi Thai...1996 Charlotte

Duke and UNC are going to be over the same weekend but those folks should be out by Sunday. They will bleed into Raleigh. Not sure about the smaller schools (Campbell, Meredith, Shaw, NC Central). Those that don't want to be there Sunday: ISO N1.

True. It's a short drive from the venue and really pretty much whatever I need. I used to live on Oberlin across from Cameron Village and I remember taking the bus to that mall!PrezIntense said:

I miss this one particular restaurant in downtown Raleigh called Fiction Kitchen. We used to go there all the time. Must swing by when I roll into town.#Grievance20250 -
Oh cool! Yeah they recently relocated -- they are not downtown anymore unfortunately. They're off Capital Blvd.Shaindli1 said:

I booked rooms for both nights when the rumors started, I got Four Points by Sheraton for N1 and Ramada for N2, mainly because I want to drink and i cant if have to drive home (30 min. away). Unfortunately the four points was $250 for one night. The ramada was cheaper for N2 at around $140ish. I thought maybe walking would be better than having to deal with uber and judging from the comments I may be right? I may end up letting go of the Ramada for n2 and not drinking and driving home that evening to save some money. If i end up cancelling the N2 Ramada reservation I can post here first and let you know a time so someone can grab it maybe.
Should I cancel my Sheraton reservation and get something cheaper a bit further away and use uber or is it going to be hell?Raleigh, NC 5/11/25 & 5/13/250 -
So more parking hopefully?PrezIntense said:

That’s ok. Plenty of good choices in Raleigh, downtown and otherwise. I was carless when I lived there & friends always offered to drive me. Time to pay it forward!Given2fly98 said:

After state and canes games the uber wait times can get a little ridiculous. But there's that new bar The Local (basically just the Backyard Bistro with a facelift). I've had success walking there and having a beer while waiting for an uber.Given2fly98 said:I booked rooms for both nights when the rumors started, I got Four Points by Sheraton for N1 and Ramada for N2, mainly because I want to drink and i cant if have to drive home (30 min. away). Yeah that's still a few years away....Bru's in Wade Park is decent bar food and pre-game spot, and I imagine lots of PJ folks will go there. If weather is nice they'll have the big bay doors open.Given2fly98 said:
