Mystery bag declaration?
Curious what the mystery bags were declared as? @Santos. I’ve never been charged actual duty ever.

Guessing “clothing” which can get dinged up to about 18% if it’s not North American made.Post edited by ekwipt on0 -

Here's 2 Mystery Bag orders I received from Canada Post. Both descriptions were different. One I paid duties, the other I didn't. Duties was hit on the "Special Classification" description package.0

I should of read mine more thoroughly. It's complicated. Here in Canada, a lot of the time, the CBSA lets a lot of lower valued stuff slide. Our limit is crazy low. $40CAD which is less than $30 USD. In my experience many packages under $100 CAD seem to avoid tax even though the limit is that low. It was even worse before Trump redid nafta and had the limit increased from $20 to $40, but in the opposite direction, stuff being mailed to the US, I think the limit is $800. It's kind of crazy.I've rarely seen Duty applied. I think on a pair of shoes once. I'm trying to remember what causes it, but I think it's when the clothing is manufactured outside of North America. Then NAFTA doesn't apply to do it, and it has the potential to be dinged for duty, but again, most of the time CBSA doesn't bother. I think I've had it on a pair of shoes once, and that's it.0

From Canada Post, I rarely see duties applied too.0
