I am implying that your posts are fear mongering, and sensational in nature pretty often.  That is my opinion, that is not "personal" as you so sensitively describe.  When I read your posts they are always very over the top and dramatic.  That is not a personal attack, as much as you wish you can frame it that way.  That is my opinion on just about all of your positions.  Very dramatic in nature.  I do apologize that you take that as a personal attack.

Pick your battles, friends. As for me, I'll ignore those who just want to play tough guy.  I'm not impressed by keyboard warriors.

Ha ha! You noticed that, too?
And then they are so dejected when they discover you've put them on "ignore".
Someone added that feature for a reason...

Ignoring someone and putting them on ignore are actually two different things.  Just sayin', lol.

Let's hope he does. You do realize that commuting doesn't mean they go free, right? I don't think you do. The death penalty is the most barbaric form of punishment for a country that's gotten it wrong enough times to finally quit doing it. Life without parole is sufficient. I get it,  you like an eye for an eye and think sanctioned murder is the only way justice is served. Cave man mentality.
I think the parameters for the death sentence should be more strict. But some crimes are severe enough that it is deserving. The Boston bomber, mass killings and serial murderers. Domestic and national terrorists. Writers for Scrubs season 9. Etc.

One of the men on death row who just had his death sentence commuted by Joe Biden is Kaboni Savage. Kaboni is a notorious drug dealer, organized crime leader, and a mass murderer who was convicted of ordering the firebombing of a house where a federal witness lived, killing six people (including four children). Why is Joe Biden commuting the death sentences of people who murdered innocent children?

I imagine that trump will personally kill all of these people with commuted sentences himself since he's such a tough guy.

A country that values (or at least aspires to) itself as having the highest ideals, should not be putting people to death. However heinous these crimes were, we shouldn't abide by vengeance. I know a very vocal community wants vengeance on people who they feel wronged them or they find offensive and elect officials and support individuals who would enact that vengeance, but thats not the moral way to live.

This was a morally correct decision by Biden.

  • Yes, let's spare their lives that viciously and brutally committed murders of others loved ones and let them sit in a cell at tax payers expense for years and years costing no telling what. And including the word morally to describe Biden is a crime itself. Back to work unlike others.........Merry Christmas

yes. If we believe ourselves to be morally superior to them, then we shouldn't stoop to their levels. Death is in someways merciful vs confinement.

I agree with you that is a horrific crime, but although you're getting a lot of responses on this topic,  I'm not sure that anyone is bringing up the specific issue why President Biden halted executions.

That's because within the last number of years, we have lost the ability to humanely execute people. The drugs that formerly enabled governments to humanely execute convicts became unavailable a number of years ago.

Although we want to punish criminals we need to do it in a Humane manner, if we are to believe the religions that most of us follow. And the constitution.

There is no negotiation on that, and it's always stunning how the evangelicals forget basic religion when they support republicans. The following is from AP News, from the time the Biden Administration suspended capital punishment for the above reasons

    ..
"Garland said the department would review the protocols put in place by former Attorney General William Barr. A federal lawsuit has been filed over the protocols — including the risk of pain and suffering associated with the use of pentobarbital, the drug used for lethal injection.
