In re: 2023 vs. 2024, I would agree with the sentiment that 2023 > 2024 overall. I also agree with those saying leg 3 this year was far better than leg 1, with less predictability night-to-night. Though fucking up Evolution and Blood as badly as they did at Fenway I undermines that position a little lol

It's been a long year of touring. I'd be thrilled if they play any North America dates.
  • 2023 was the closest thing there has been since 2018 that wasn’t a new album tour.  That’s what made it great.

Dark Matter’s quality as an album has made 2024 also very good as despite about 30% of every show being reserved for those new songs, to the exclusion of so much of the catalogue, it was really enjoyable.  Jealous of the folks in Aus/NZ who are about to enjoy.  But they have waited a decade, so…

After the way the Philly shows went this year, I vote for Philly every year.

Yes. And next time make it 4 Philly PJ nights, again, please!

In contrast, when you look at the ticket prices they charge for their concert at the Ziggo Dome Amsterdam, you certainly have nothing to be ashamed of. The most expensive standard tickets in the Ziggo Dome are €99. For this, you either end up right at the front in the Golden Circle or in the lower tier close to the side of the stage. The band is charging €72 for GA tickets. Front row upper tier with a great view of the stage €61. It all looks fairer than average to me. Even though they could have sold all the tickets for 20 or 30 euros more.

New Green Day album was terrible imho. Also get second hand embarrassment looking at them. You can still maintain the punk aesthetic while acknowledging you're no longer in your late tweens or early twenties--just look at the other Bay Area bands. Ticket prices seem good though.

Wasn't there talk of a PJ residency at one Seattle venue way back when?

Pretty rare to Seattle shows in back to back years.. last time was the Gorge shows (yes I count that as Seattle :) ).

Perhaps Benaroya Hall for an acoustic show or two and then release later in the year closer to 35th anniversary?

I shouldn’t have made my comment sound so negative, but the new Green Day album is to me their best since American Idiot. Definitely my most played record in the last year. Dark Matter on the other hand is the weakest album PJ have put out. But I think I’m probably the only PJ fan alive who thinks that.

Im with you that saviours is the best green day album since american idiot but not on dark matter sorry lol😅
  • Saviors and dark matter are two of my favourite albums of the year. I also paid about half the price for my Manchester green day ticket compared to my Manchester pearl jam one.
The green day tour this year was fabulous

 That would be so amazing.  And they could include a re-press of the first shows with the release.  This is a dream idea

Would also love some Gorge shows :rock_on:

I'm also down for a residency, as I think those are shows where we might get full albums played.  Any album show would be great, and I'm most excited for Riot Act and Lost Dogs shows.

Saying Dark Matter is weaker than Gigaton as a fan of music is just absurd
