The games are so much more enjoyable to watch. They really are.Jearlpam0925 said:It has been an absolute joy having Franzke take McCarthy's place the last couple weekends.
I hate the fact that the younger fans now seem to like Mccarthy as he's all they really know at this point.

Also, just saw that the Phils have had 17 seasons of 90 wins or more (you read that correctly) over the course of 131 seasons (yes, you read that correctly).
Now, I have been alive for 8 of them, cogent with a formed brain for 7 of them.
Insanity. We have no idea how "good" we've had it.0 -

Not sure how I'm coping with no more shows coming up.
And I'm really feeling that PTSD from 2011 and expecting severe disappointment in the playoffs.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Not really the case for me.....I feel like they stepped on the gas again after sleep walking for 6 weeks. Didn't we kind of limp in back then?Johnny Abruzzo said:Not sure how I'm coping with no more shows coming up.

They took a dive after clinching the division. Can't remember but maybe there was no incentive to get the best record or something like that. Then the umpire squeezed Cliff Lee in Game 2 and everything went to shit. To be honest their hitting throughout that season was a struggle and it was only masked over by the excellent pitching. The Juggler said:

I mean I get Johnny's point from some of it. Never fun when you're the best team, honestly lol. Anything beyond a title is a complete disappointment lol.
Also, that team that year felt completely hollow if the pitching didn't carry them. And I can see the same with this team, not to that extreme, but this team has been beaten up and relies on the pitching probably as much, if not more, as that 2011 team.
I want the bye, I want a sweep in the DS, and don't expect a challenge until the World Series lol0 -
anyone go to the War on Drugs/National show last night at the Mann?I was tempted to go, but passed. Had a slight headache and was kinda tired. Actually saw tix on stubhub for like $15 for pretty good seats.8/28/98- Camden, NJ

I sold the tixx. I felt like it was misrepresented as a co-headliners tour vs. being a National tour with War of Drugs opening. The Juggler said:I did not go.

Will check out the new MMJ song. I have either back to school night or driving to MD for a meeting the next morning that night. Semi-related, not a fan of Weezer but everything else on that show's bill looked awesome.
It's funny how now O'Brien has scarred too many people and no longer gets people excited, haha.
The MMJ song is....fine. I think they're just releasing this because of the time of the year/election.
Also, I don't want to see them on a double bill with Nathanael Rateliff or whatever his name is.0 -
What show are you talking about JP?
Yeah BoB seems a little past his prime. I haven't been impressed with that Nathaniel guy either.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Which part? Weezer just played WFC with The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr.(though I love the blue album);MMJ are playing a double bill the the night sweats at The Mann on the 26th. At least it looks like MMJ is going 2nd, but probably still can't get me out there for half a show.Johnny Abruzzo said:What show are you talking about JP?

Blue Album & Pinkerton are unimpeachable.
Yeah 1/2 show isn't doing it for me. I'll probably go to MMJ. Don't have a ticket yet but probably can find one on stubhub day of show. Aren't Nathaniel Ratliff headlining or is it like a co-headlining tour thing with equal amount of time?

oh ok, hat's cool. I'm not too familiar with Nathaniel Rateliff's music though. I thought MMJ went on first judging by the number of songs played and looking at the set list.Jearlpam0925 said:
