What is IN HIDING about???

i must know your interpretations to this song.. what gives???

    For me, I thought it was always about going back to a place that meant something to you and was a big part of your life, and you start to reminisce about old memories and you end up staying there reliving them, hence "In Hiding." At least that's how I like to look at it.

    I also think it could be about someone who's depressed or has had something tragic to them and they've gone someplace to get away from everything, in other words, they end up running away from their problems.

    hilarious you mention that... IN HIDING reminds me of my youth...

    i rocked YIELD this week and remember buying it as a high school junior... me and my bestfriends would sit out in the field, drink beer and listen to PJ.. what else is there to do in Arkansas???

    I've always looked at it like a bad anxiety attack. Wanting to lock yourself in and not face anything. After a few days or so you begin to see that it's not so bad, whatever it was that sent you "in hiding" in the first place.

    Maybe I'm missing something, but I've thought it was about someone isolating himself for a period of time with the sole purpose of thinking and changing. To have a mind-expanding kind of experience. But, maybe that was just the un-expected result of the isolation. I'm not sure! :)

    Funny you say that dude, I just finished my junior year of high school! I'll be a senior in the fall!!! YEAH!!

    that is pretty much how i thought of it...
    whenever i get into a funk (and it happens often) i keep thinking in my head, "man, i just wanna sleep for about two weeks" at that point i would wake up and see how things developed and go from there. Its pretty similar in that the person in the song (Eddie most likely) locks the door, pulls hte curtain down, empties all the plugs, and other things similar to that. This shows isolation and the need for space. he stays where his last setep left him, and ignors all his rounds, in a sence he is hiding and needs to figure out what exactly he needs.
