MSG1 will be my 80th show. That is of little importance to me.  After years of asking my daughter to go to shows with me (including daddy/daughter trips all over the US) she said one of the greatest things ever to me.  "Dad I would like to see Pearl Jam with you."  Reagan used to call Unthought Known "the moon song".  We sang it every night walking outside.  When I saw them at Wrigley in 2013 she had me leave it as a voicemail on mom's phone.  The video is her 11 years ago at 3 years old singing it.  She says she should go with me to a concert and not take mommy.  Here we are in 2024 and its happening.

    i dont feel the need nor will be any less an experience for her and I.  Nonetheless a simple request can't hurt and can only make a kids night more important.  As a GRLDAD himself, not that I'm sure he would ever see this, I'm sure Ed would want something similar for his girls if the roles were reversed.  Not at all about myself, I've probably seen them play it a dozen times.  It would just be really cool for a 14 yr old.  I guess you don't have kids

    As a dad with 2 girls I think it’s cool if even one of them shows interest in things I enjoy. Especially at the teenager stage in life. I bet we all remember how “uncool” we thought our parents could be. If this gets played n1 I’ll be singing with a smile for yall. Enjoy the show

    There’s a part of me that really wants them to play this for your daughter, because this is so sweet. Then there’s the selfish part of me that really dislikes Unthought Know.

    Thank you and agree 100%. I’ve taken her to many shows that she likes. We go annually to global citizen since 2018 and have taken her to a few pop acts she likes (dua lipa and Halsey). The fact she is excited to see a band I like is amazing. When they are young they like what they’re surrounded by. I took my other kid (also a girl) to her first concert in July at a few days shy of 6. She listens to Billy Strings with me and loved seeing him. If I could’ve taken Reagan at that age I’m sure it would be Pearl Jam but as you know the wife’s approach to a second kid is quite different than the first. She would never let me take Reagan to something that young. As they get older they branch out to what their friends listen to. I couldn’t be happier and the fact that she’s excited as fuck has me pumped more than anything. Can’t wait for her first show 9/3.
