I'm not exaggerating: these all were reasons offered to use the investment vehicles/ scams these ads were promoting. I was expecting to hear "Due to the ongoing pandemic" as well. I almost -- ALMOST -- wished for the "thigh fold, butt crack, underboob" woman instead.
    All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

    I had an elderly client a few years back (probably around 2013) who had a son that helped her with getting her taxes done, etc. He was a big Ron Paul fan. Bumper stickers all over his car, etc. 

    That same narrative was floating around back then after Obama won his second election. He convinced her to transfer her IRAs from whomever it was invested with to some Gold Bullion trust because he was so certain the economy was going to tank and gold would be the surviving currency. I forget how much she lost but it was significant. I want to say her account balance went from $400K to $200K over a few years. Not necessarily because gold dropped in price but because the trust was a complete ripoff. All because her son hated Obama so much.

    I remember seeing her account statements and they looked like something Bernie Madoff would have printed off of an excel spreadsheet. Clearly not managed correctly. She passed away some time after that so he had to feel the cost of his own stupidity because he would have inherited it.

    I think tRump's people were planting seeds that he was going to pivot and start sounding more like a serious candidate yesterday. I was seeing things pop up on X about how his speech/conference was supposed to be more focused on policy, etc.

    During his speech he even mentioned something like he was supposed to sound "more intellectual" or something to that effect and talk about the economy. That lasted about a minute before he launched into his usual bullshit.

    I think a big shakeup is coming with his campaign. He's either not happy and is going to can someone or the campaign manager is sick of him not listening to him and will quit.

    edit: oddly I just heard that tRump fired his campaign managers in August in both 2016 and 2020...lol

    The thing is, we've been here before. 2016 stories talked about how poorly organized his campaign was. Everything was a mess, he fired campaign managers, and we all know how 2016 went.
