Anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced place close to MSG?

    No hotels there are reasonably priced.
    Choose Expedia and search by proximity from MSG or Penn station (same thing)

    Honestly, midtown is not such a nice neighborhood and getting around NYC, especially Manhattan, is quick and easy. I’d look in any neighborhood on the 1/2/3 line or A/C/E lines.

    This. Midtown sucks. That said...I'm staying in Midtown because I got a great deal. The Herald at 35th and 6th was $415 total for 2 nights with 2 beds. If it wasn't Labor Day week, you could find way better deals

    I’ve got the option of the Hampton Inn on 31st or Holiday Inn Express on 29th.

    Anyone recommend one or the other?

    I have had friends stay at that Hampton Inn. It is not much more than a bed. Which is fine, but it is not a great hotel.

    I wouldn’t stay in midtown. Trains are very easy, pick any hotel anywhere near a train line.

    Previously also enjoyed the Westhouse and Parc Central.

    Debating between 2 holiday inns. Never been to nyc. 
    26th st and 6th ave.  10 min walk from msg.  
    29th st and 7th ave, 5 min walk.
    ~$100 difference between the 2

    For better or worse that’s where I’ve ended up. First time trip so…………..at least there’s a dispensary around the corner??? 
    Also think it is about a 20 minute walk to msg according to maps

    switched to the Motto by Hilton on 24th....think theres more restaurants etc
