Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't consider the road that runs along the coast there to be a highway, but I ride on the sidewalk there, there's also a large parking lot along there that you can ride in.  Also, the traffic at that hour on that road is pretty sparse.  Then about halfway down, there's a bike path that's separated by a guard rail that runs parallel to the road.  After that you hit a dirt trail that runs parallel to the beach and railroad tracks, you'll go over a little bridge which you'll need to walk the bike over.  The dirt trail will take you all the way to SC's pier, you can also exit before the pier and head up the hills to wherever you're staying.  It's very safe.
Good info... Did you reserve a bike in advance.

Someone see if Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit us available!
I should have asked them tonight. I saw them play before Wilco at Wilco's festival. (Greetings from North Adams, Massachusetts.)

    Hi 👋🏻
    First time poster.
Firstly thank you to all the contributors to the wealth of information on this thread, invaluable.
I’m looking to fly over from the UK for my first Ohana experience having admired from a far for a few years now.
Had the misfortune of being denied in London & Berlin this year but thankfully got Manchester & Barcelona but now suffering with post gig blues as a result.
I'm on the waiting list for a weekend pass but understand tickets will become available nearer the time.
Accommodation seems to be the biggest issue having arrived to the party so late. I’m looking along the coastline at nearby towns which helps bring the price down but is still a little high.
If I’ve read correctly then these are the areas I should be scanning: Newport Beach, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Beach, Irvine, Huntingdon Beach.
As I understand it we’re waiting on the shuttle route announcement. Otherwise cab sharing makes a lot of sense.
Sad news about Neil, wish him well.
    Thanks

Huntington Beach is pretty far north of the venue. Newport and Laguna Beach I would expect to be most expensive because they're beach communities.

Towns to look at, in my opinion: Aliso Viejo (that's where we're staying), Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, Dana Point (although rooms in DP probably all are booked). You could try Irvine as well -- that's getting pretty far away, but you would have freeway access and be closer to the airport.

Also, if you're not renting a car, I would just use Uber or Lyft to get to and from the venue rather than getting a car to the shuttle site.

Thanks for the additional info and locations. I won’t be driving so closer the better but will be price dependent. Got my eye on a couple of air BnB’s already but now have some additional places to check out.

Last time I went I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Mission Viejo and took uber to the venue. It was very easy and the costs were split among three people so not too bad. Getting back after the shows ended was a nightmare. We just went to the Rib Joint, got some food and drinks, waited an hour or so, and then there was no problem getting an uber back to Mission Viejo.

Sounds ideal particularly as it’s a relatively early finish. Will definitely check it out, thanks.

    Just an FYI

There are 2 GA - 3 day tickets for Ohana for sale on Tickpick, I just bought 2 myself, total of $581 seems really good, and I think well under face value!

I believe tickpick is reputable, so we will see how it plays out.

Now just gotta convince the wife, but a beach vacation to California shouldn't be too hard a swing

Got a place in Newport Beach for around $500 that's cancelable and I'll check periodically to see if anything else pops up closer!

Can anyone help or PM me with the inside goss on when the new Hilton Gardens will begin to take reservations? Coming from Australia, so a sneaky heads up would be greatly appreciated!!!

And my vote is for Jack White with Lazzaretto as an opener.

Is there any info about shuttle busses, park and rides etc?

I've a hotel in San Clemente and Newport Beach that are cancelable - I'm leaning toward San Clemente but it just seems a nightmare getting to and from the shows, we will have a car but I feel like if someone rented a bus and charged 20 bucks a head and just did rides from Dana Point to downtown San Clemente they'd make a mint, as its a short drive lol
