I feel like QoTSA is more of an exception. Even the Foo Fighters seem to do less dates and bigger shows than they have in the past. A lot of the veteran acts do a limited amount of shows, opposed to touring like they're in their 20s.Generally, I feel the more a band tours, probably the less popular they are. They often play smaller venues, and need to jam in more dates.I suppose some bands do it because they love being away from home for years on end

I think the average age of QOTSA is around 50, where PJ's is 60.
If QOTSA is still together in any capacity in 10 years, I'll take what I can get, as I do w/ PJ. Small tours or not, it's still better than nothing IMO.0 -
I agree these days if I can get a PJ show once every 2-3 years I’m fine! Even with new material I don’t need a 5 show run plus just getting tickets is not something I look forward too! But I’m looking forward more to QOTSA than PJ there’s something about QUEENS that I don’t get from a PJ show anymore, I’d call it the dirty vibe or something like it even the crowds are different.Merkin Baller said:I think the average age of QOTSA is around 50, where PJ's is 60.

I've got to say that the QOTSA shows I saw last year with the Viagra Boys opening were two of the best shows I've ever been to. The VB are the perfect opener. I wish PJ would go that route with opening acts.josevolution said:

I've seen Royal Blood open for them twice. They are fantastic live. I don't know Viagra Boys but sounds goodGern Blansten said:

How big is the floor at MGM? Will GA be somewhat relaxed like PJ shows or are you more crammed in? Trying to decide if I want to get GA or just get something up above. Ideally could hang towards the back and still have a good view. It's a pretty small room so I suppose there aren't many bad places to be.0

GA is fine there. Can get packed for a sold out show but same as anywhere... certainly not crammed unless you're up front. The only bad spot is off to the sides under the mezz overhangs but it's easily avoidable.CantKeepmedown said:How big is the floor at MGM? If going to MGM Fenway, bring hearing protection. It's f'n LOUD on that floor. ... there are speakers lining the overhang for the first balcony all directed on that open floor.
I forgot ear plugs when I went to see Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade there a year ago... I had to get back under the overhang halfway through.0 -

I’m all set I exchanged for a room at the Bostonian hotel 10 minutes from
venue by car Disney comes through for me $95 for a room two double beds!jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -
That's a great spot. I would not drive from there though - you actually have an easy T ride. 2 green line stops near you - Haymarket and Government Center. Take it 6 or 7 stops to Kenmore and walk up to MGM.josevolution said:I’m all set I exchanged for a room at the Bostonian hotel 10 minutes from
