This was the last time i saw pj! They played for close to 5 hours and i was going nuts the whole time. Some girl was allmost killed in the pit and ed told her to get out of there, you ain't gonna make it sweetheart. A mindblowing time was had. Nothing could top that show for me. I am going back on wednesday at msg. Got pretty good seats from a scalper friend of my mom's. sec 97, wich is right above the floor seats. If you have tix to msg go to msg.com and click arena and u get a virtual pic of your seats. cannot wait to see them, first time in 12 years!

ahhh yes, the good ol index card days...

i'll never forget that show either... security would pull her (sweetheart) out of the front row crowd over the railing and escort her off to the side, then a song later somehow she would end up in the front row again. this repeated itself 3 or 4 times until she looked completely exchausted, skin scratched/bruised clothes ripped. if you remember after a few times of her wiggling her way up from ed had this look of astonishment on his face before he asks her to give up.

Wasnt that the show where you had to send in index cards to the 10C for tickets or was that after. Im only saying that because I still have the tickets with my name on them. It was a larger ticket, light blue with a globe pictured on it and each ticket had your name on it. Supposedly, you weren't allowed in if the ticket didnt match your ID (or someone you were with).
    Maybe Im wrong...

Yes, yes, yes. i do remember that. funny thing is the tix i had were last minute, i mean like 3 hours before we were leaving to go to the show and my ticket had my buddy's name on it so we were freaking out that we may not get in because my tix had another name on it. However they didn't ask me for id and we got in. holy crap u have some memory on you, i totally for got about that. and yes the ticket had a globe on it. i had my tix for a long time but lost it a few years back. Man u have a great memory i fogot about all that ticket stuff, too funny

Good Times. The Sat show was crazy hot and very tight. Im 6-3 and was dying from the heat in the pit. Until it rained (cooled everyone down)and Ed said if they were in Florida all the people would have left. My first PJ show. Blew outta my brothers wedding reception to be there.

We used the index cards on the 2003 tour.

I'm pretty sure '96 was still the old phone-in days. (i know tickets in '95 were sold only via phone). But I could be wrong.

You are right. I think it was the phone in days. I definitely remember having an 800 number and calling.

I would guess that the index cards pre-dated 2003... if not 1996 then maybe 1998?

I remember getting my tickets for that... It was by phone and I needed a CC so I borrowed my older sisters. I remember those 2 nights like it was yesterday. That was hands down the best shows I have seen.

Yep, this was def. the phone-in days....I remember I had two phones going at the same time, my finger almost fell off from hitting redial. I still have the ticket, it's real cool with my name on the side of it.

I think the '98 tour was the index card tour.

Refresh my memory on the phone in please... I think I bought like 8 because I only needed 6 and wanted 2 for keepsake.
I remember being blown away when then ripped into ANIMAL and the crowd going into a frenzy. It was like being caught in a rip current, you had no control. I was with 5 girls and it took two entire songs to get them out of the pit and off to the side into safety. Then once we were off to the right side I remember getting squished either by a gate/fence or just the start of the concrete bleachers and having to work our way back. There were some real toughguy (macho meathead...)assholes there literally blocking me from carrying all 5 girls (that could barely breathe) one at a time out.
Im glad by now all those type fans have either grown up or grown out of PJ!
Ed threatened to stop the show if people didnt stop trampling on others. I remember him going on an F' tirade. Nostalgia

Was that the show when John Popper came out on stage to play with them. I know they played 2 or 3 shows at Randall's Island that year. For the life of me I can't remember which night I was at. All I remember was that it rained like hell, the show was absolutely fucking amazing and Popper came out and played with them.

What I remember most about that show is the rain...... it simply poured. Getting out was a horror!!!
But it was a great show......

If I remember correctly - The rain was the sat night show. The long set was the Sunday show. I also remember the F'n traffic trying to get out of the stadium.
The crowd was like being in a rip tide. You couldnt move you just swayed with everyone.

Yeah, the first night it rained and Popper came out for Even Flow. The 2nd night was the 3+ hour show. Amazing shows back to back.

My friend and I were just talking about this after the Camden II show on Fri --The second night at Randall's was a favorite.

We remember how hard it was raining during "Black" but just knew that it felt good and the skies opened up at just the right time. The rain was so appropriate for that song at that time.

That's totally true, it was like everyone was just looking up soaking the rain in. Not much you could do anyways in that field, just stand there and enjoy it.

Randall's Island II was the first and last time for me, too.. So I'm totally looking forward to Wednesday. I wasn't 10 Club in 1996, so my boyfriend and I sat far away, watching the music and the craziness in the pit and Eddie getting all paternal. Hopefully I'll be closer this time!

I was at Randalls Island II and it still to this day is the best concert Ive ever seen. I was up at the front, which was packed full of people and I managed to make my way about 5 feet in front of the stage...and then Porch started and the crowd was going so crazy and swaying back and forth so much that i lost my right shoe...and then had to watch the rest of the show in the mud with 1 shoe....but still had a great time.

all these memories coming back to me, my buddy allmost got arrested before the show for drinking a beer in a cup no less. The cops were plain clothes and we never saw them coming and they asked for our cups and he didn't hear or see them and took a sip in front of them and one of the cops slapped it of his hand and told him he would take him in to some precent in harlem! needless to say he put it down quick! those cops were the biggest a-holes i have ever met.

Night 2 was amazing, but it did not rain that night. It rained the first night.
