Show was pretty good. I got to meet Stone for a minute before the show when he was walking in. Very cool guy, just walked down the street with Barb Ireland, guitar in hand, no big deal. He chatted with another guy for a minute about ed and the new record. Said pretty much that they were going to take their time on this one, seemed very excited about it. Then he signed my yield cd and was on his way.

One of the other songs he played had the lyrics "If you loved me half as much as I love you" I wasn't really sure of any of the song titles.

Also someone yelled out asking the name of his new record and he laughed and said I don't know.

All in all it was awesome to see him singing and playing having a good time. Ed should let him sing more often.

And support the HDSA, great cause.
I am pretty sure Ed has absolutely nothing to do with Stone singing or not singing.

There's an old Curley Williams song called Half As Much that Emmylou did -- maybe Stone picked it up from her singing it at one of Neil's barbecues (oy.)

Hank Williams also covered this. In the video from Seattle someone posted about a month ago (Stone covering Cool Water), Stone says he recently got into Hank Williams, so he might have heard his version. Patsy Cline covered it too.

I like that song, but I think my two Hank favorites are the Long Gone Lonesome Blues and I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive, both of which have also been covered recently, the first by Cary Ann Hearst and the Borrowed Angels, and the second by the Little Willies.

    Glad you guys had fun!
