PJ and Foo Fighters will pair up for some west coast summer shows. Dig this post back up when it's announced.

would be great, lets wait and see...
but with 2 bands as big as that on the same bill, it will be expensive, and the sets would be shorter, and who would headline?

I've nothing especially against Foo Fighters but I want PJ on their own full-set glory!
if the west coast show end up being shared bills, I'm passing.

Without showing my hand completely -
I work at a venue that was on Foo's recent tour.

In a random conversation with a staff member of Foo's tour, I mentioned I would only be more excited if PJ came to my venue. He indicated that he had done some work with them in the past and that I can look forward to some west coast dates over the summer.

I think in time - we will all be surprised with what I deem - good news.

Did he specifically say west coast dates WITH the Foo Fighters or just west coast Pearl Jam dates?

I've heard the same from a couple of people. Unless the Foo Fighters are opening with an extra long set I am going to be upset. Pearl Jam is better than this. I don't understand the reasoning, unless it is strictly money.

Pearl Jam does not need no repetitive Boo Fighters. It's completely pointless.

    It's a terrible idea

    apart from the facts that
    1) I have no chance of getting to the US for any gig and
    2) I'm already going to see Foos at Wembley in June (probably for the last time because I've had enough of the same set for the last few years)

and most importantly PJ need to be able to get on the stage and not have to compromise their time for anyone or anything.

It's not true. Pearl Jam never opens for anyone other than older bands they respect deeply. Look at the record. Outside of Festivals, the only bands Pearl Jam has opened for are The Who, U2, The Rolling Stones, Cheap Trick (yeah, I know, but apparently they were huge fans), and maybe there's another one I'm missing (Neil Young?). They wouldn't open for Foo or split a show with them outside of a festival environment. I call BS on what this guy is saying.

I think it's a semantical misunderstanding. The Foo Tour guy said he's done some work with them (PJ) and to look forward to west coast summer. Maybe the guy does work for both Foo and PJ separately and he meant look forward to PJ WC only.

Hope you are right. It would be a great show, therefore, it will probably not happen. There is always hope.....

Honestly i hope they don't tour together. Both bands have to be the headlining band. I saw both bands this year, PJ (MSG I 6/24) and FF(7/29) and they both played 2 hour plus shows. Neither band would want to cut their time. Ticket prices would be sky high and i don't think that Pearl Jam fans who see multiple PJ shows would want to see the same exact set list from the Foo Fighters everynight. The Foo fighters set list was so pridictable and i found out they play 95% of the setlist every show.
