Yeah the Jeff /porn thing was just so fucking poor and cringe what an absolute asshole thing to say to a 60 year musician. Says more about the host than anything else.  Dick
No it wasnt. You haven't heard Howard. The guys know Howard would say something like that
No shit. And it is the throwaways like that Howard uses to actually knock people off their normal game in interviews and actually gets them more at ease and speaking more freely usually.

I didn't hear the exchange, but I'm willing to bet Jeff wasn't half as offended as some people here.

Howard woke up in the middle of the night to pee and said he couldn’t get that song out of his head.  Kept humming it.  Said they should have released that as the single…

I actually think releasing Stevie as a pre-release single would have been a mistake. But now that the full album is out they should absolutely push that to radio next after Wreckage runs it course.

I don't listen to local radio. Are these singles getting any air time?

Dark Matter charted on multiple rock charts. Wreckage seems like it could get some airplay at least at AAA. Running not so much (although MLB is using it in highlight packages)

I guess the toxic AMTers have gotten most of the threads locked over there, so now they are bringing their toxicity to other categories.

It didn't just chart. It hit number one in Rock & Alternative Airplay and Mainstream Rock Airplay and stayed there for three and four weeks, respectively. It also hit number one on the Canada rock chart. It has also been in the top ten in alternative airplay for nine weeks, and even hit the top 20 at Triple-A radio. This is about as much success at radio as Pearl Jam could reasonably hope for in 2024.

They spent about 20 minutes yesterday on the show busting Gary’s chops for interrupting the interview with his cut-in.

They need to use Robin singing Waiting for Stevie on one of Sal & Richard’s phony phone calls

Howard always playing clips of her singing/ belting out tunes… Robin is the best

And this is why you do Marc Maron
Actually no. This isn’t why you do marc maron. Marc Maron actually doesn’t like pearl jam at all. He’s said that on numerous occasions.  Do you even listen to Marc Maron?

Howard actually loves pearl jam. And yes he makes mistakes bc hes not a super fan, but you also get gems like Stone didn’t want the band to stop rooming together.

Yup. Eddie mentioned the Stone story in Cincinnati 10/1/2014.

    The Jamily:
Howard is the greatest interviewer ever

    Howard:
SO JEFF YOU ARE HOME WATCHING PORN
Classic no context comment. No one was offended by this comment and Jeff laughed. Howard made the comment in passing before he got to his real question. Of course you took it out of context.

I never really paid attention to Stern, I think the first time I knew he interviews musicians and is a thing was when FF went on and they played Times Like These.
All I knew Stern from was clips I've seen or heard where he dares a dad to bleach his daughter's a-hole in his studio, or had a game of strip poker between a brother and sister, and weird stuff like that. That's all I thought his show was, so it was surprising and funny to me to see these rock stars start coming on and being a big thing.
Has he changed, is that stuff his style when not interviewing stars? I always thought of him as this perky older guy. Not knowing the context and how I perceive the guy, the porn question would seem weird. But maybe that's not his thing anymore.  I never have listened to him other than clips on YouTube where bands I like play.

I haven't listened in a long time. He is rude, shocking, real, while maintaining a kind heart imo. Really odd, but I grew up listening to him and his cast of characters and can understand if you don't know his style he Def can seem like a shallow jerk. I appreciate him from years of brainwashing I guess.
