Ten Club benefit?
I’ve been paying dues for over 10 years and never once got a ticket that was worthwhile. Never an MSG show and terrible seats on other venues I’m lucky to resell at face value. It would helpful to understand what the odds are for getting an MSG ticket. Am I just really unlucky or is the odds of getting picked through 10 Club just very low?

I read somewhere today that it is like 8%, but that may have been out of context. Last couple of legs they would give "odds" on getting tickets and MSG (and some other "premium" venues) was half as much as most others.Randall's Island 9/29/96, Continental Arena 9/8/98, MSG 9/10/98, Jones Beach 8/23/00, 8/24/00, 8/25/00, Nassau Coliseum 4/30/03, MSG 7/8/03, 7/9/03, Continental Arena 6/1/06, 6/3/06, MSG 6/24/08, 6/25/08, Spectrum 10/30/09, 10/31/09, MSG 5/20/10, 5/21/10, PJ20 9/3/11, 9/4/11, Charlottesville 10/29/13, Charlotte 10/30/13, Global Citizen 9/26/15, Raleigh 4/20/16 Baltimore 3/28/20 Austin 9/18/23, 9/19/23, Forum 5/21/24, Baltimore 9/12/24, Fenway 9/17/24, Nashville 5/6/25, 5/8/250

Been here for 25 and think I’ve only landed MSG once on my account since 2003. It’s hard.JZ280705 said:I’ve been paying dues for over 10 years and never once got a ticket that was worthwhile. I have been a member for 15 years now and just got my first MSG win after putting in for MSG in every other lottery. My ticket buddy was a member for only about 5 years and got MSG for the last tour, so its all luck of the draw.JZ280705 said:I’ve been paying dues for over 10 years and never once got a ticket that was worthwhile. Yet, I dont think you should every have an issue reselling for face value, the community here will always match you with someone, and I bet F2F has a nearly 100% sell rate. This could be the day0 -
If you have a mediocre number, it's still worth it for the chance at GA. If you get pulled for reserved, probably getting less than great seats. Especially in high demand markets. Thats the new reality.JZ280705 said:I’ve been paying dues for over 10 years and never once got a ticket that was worthwhile. Interesting comments. Surprised to hear how very long term members never pulled MSG. I’ve lost quite a bit buying PJ Premium tickets by upgrading or not going due to change in plans like Fresno. That was really a surprise with great seats unsold for face value - I paid $450 for a pair I could t give away.0

Received my rejection email for the Fenway shows. Despite 26 years as a member of 10 Club. They're over face value, so if demand softens, you can't really compete against face value. My rule with premium/platinum is, if you buy them, intend to use them.I think many shows on the Califorina tour had seats left up for sale. It was a lot of california dates all at once. We liked it. made it so we got GA tickets for oakland

I think being in europe its more worth it , to all the shows i requested i always won.0

MSG tickets have nothing to do with how long you've been a member. It's simple supply vs. demand. And a lottery is just that too.

If you have been paying for over 10 years, and/or read the info about this tour's lottery then wouldn't you know that the odds for MSG were very lowJZ280705 said:I’ve been paying dues for over 10 years and never once got a ticket that was worthwhile. Seems dumb that some people were able to go like 8 for 8 including MSG with multiple GAs0

MSG GA is the toughest 10C Pearl Jam ticket to score. Anywhere. Does not matter how long you have been in the 10c. That said exercise a bit of patience and due diligence and you can get into the MSG or other shows. There are always people looking to sell in the days leading up to the shows. The membership is worth it to me because the 10C has been very good to me for more than 25 years. It is not a lot of money, it is worth it to preserve my seniority, and when the lottery hits, the seats are usually good. Pick smart and you will have better luck in the lottery. P2 was the way to go for MSG.0

I think this is why some are questioning the value of membership now. Used to be that the main benefit of your member dues was the peace of mind knowing that you'd get tickets when the band toured, and usually great seats. The t-shirt and Xmas single were nice perks, but access to the shows were always the top reason to join and keep your membership current. Now it seems worth only a shot at tickets, and considering that the band is aging and touring less, the odds on your shot get worse and worse. As do the seats with more and more members wanting the same tickets.Eraserhead said:MSG tickets have nothing to do with how long you've been a member. It's simple supply vs. demand. It's a personal decision for all to consider and make. It doesn't need to be beaten to death here and on Facebook.lazyjc22 said:

It's $35 a year in the U.S. I can't get pizzas delivered for less than that. The membership fee is of no consequence, and I am far from rich.___________________________________________

I’ll start by saying I’m not going to drop mine, but I think this is a legit question. However, for places w/high demand, and especially MSG (my home show) I wonder what is harder: getting face price tickets through the lottery of Verified Fan sale? Because both are extremely unlikely, I would keep my membership just to increase my odds incrementally.you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane0

We're both PJ fans and have memberships, but the two memberships things works best when there is priority. Without priority it didn't make as much a difference. I wouldn't be surprised if we go back to a 1 membership household. I also think that might be a good thing.$35 still seems steep for presale ticket access. It allows to buy the vault, but I think it's weird where you have to pay money to buy someone's products.I think I'm luckier than most that PJ plays somewhere in the PNW every few years (covid drought withstanding), so maybe I'm paying 2 to 3 years worth of dues for that one shot at tickets.Metallica does that for free. U2 charges $40/year and you get a pretty cool gift every year (it's $50 on initial sign up).I'm too much of a diehard to give my old membership, but I think we'll probably cut it down to 1 the next time my wife's runs out. No real need for 2 unless you need more entries in the pot for high demand shows. Plus 10c and fans always know a show/tour is going to happen before it's going to happen. If there was a year where Seattle got shows and Vancouver didn't, not hard to sign up before it gets announce, rather than pay every year.0

I mean just to the OG post... I tried MSG once and got AWESOME seats. You're just unlucky I think.

Which is good, because apparently the membership is of no consequence as well.
$35 fee on tix that run $370-400 a pair is 8-9% markup
(assuming averages a show a year over the course of membership)
8-9% mark-up for what?- 10C tickets keep getting worse.
- The odds of getting 10C tickets keep getting worse.
- 10C benefits keep getting worse (no shirts & early access to buy slightly different colored vinyl).
The cost / benefit analysis keeps sliding in the wrong direction.0
