Does anyone else do this?

During shows, I will close my eyes in between songs because I don't want to see what gear the band is using, the lighting, if Boom is present, etc, etc, because I don't want any clues as to what song will be played next. Is that a little neurotic? or am I not alone?

nah, I don't know the first thing about music, so I wouldn't know what they were going to play based on what guitar Mike or Stone got. Maybe if I saw Jeff sit down with a cello, or saw Stone and Jeff switch sides.

haha i actually do the opposite, i'm not to good with instruments either, but i can tell if stone is going for an acoustic or electric and try to guess it from there
My favorite Pearl Jam song: "Corporate Greed Boat Asshole Behind a Counter in the Oval Office"

I should start doing that lol. I'm a music guy, and I can tell from what kind of guitars mike and stone are using what song they are going to play. 9/10 times I'm right. I piss myself off, cause I get all amped up wayy before anyone else does. It's so much better when you don't know until you hear the first notes!

I am definitely trying that out in Mansfield.
And before his first step... He's off again...

Quite the opposite..... I got a setlist before or during the shows so I kinda knew what was coming next.

I like to guess. I'm right about 80% of the time.

But at Camden I yelled out "In My Tree!!" at the start of Corduroy. That was baaaad. :o

Sometimes but I like closing my eyes and not sing along to songs. I think I am over singing along. When I was at the Roo the thing I liked to most was that it was not an all PJ crowd. It was nice to just hear them play without the singing along. Ya know????

i don't close my eyes...but i think many pj fans don't want to know what's next. when they showed the setlist during the first encore break at bonnaroo there were lots of boos and jeers.

here's a tip if you do watch gear changes...if stone has his acoustic guitar for betterman it's like 95% chance they are doing save it for later as a tag.

considering i can tell what the next song is by hearing 1 note while they are just tuning a guitar,.......ummmmm, no, you're ok. :D
