Between 2022 and 2023 I saw 12 Gigaton shows. I got all songs but Comes Then Goes. Retrograde is amazing live. I hope you get to hear it.JojoRice said:6 Gigaton shows here....Never got Retrograde which is one of my favorites on the album. Managed to get Buckle Up 3 times though

I was vague for two reasons. First, I didn't know that this was actually going to be the title and, whatever the title ended up being, it's the band's news to announce when they are ready to do so. Second, I didn't want people to book flights and hotel rooms on the basis of a very speculative comment. Maybe that's three reasons?JimmyV said:
This is would have been cool. Also understand now why you were vague.BF25394 said:Now that we know the title, I am comfortable sharing that the proposed title I was told by Josh K. in June was Eclipse. He also mentioned that it was also discussed that they could do a show in or near Niagara Falls or Buffalo in connection with the solar eclipse on April 8, as that area is in the path of totality. He had the album artwork he suggested in connection with the title on his phone.
Oddly enough, I was on my way to an astronomy lecture when I ran into him. We talked a bit about astronomy. It turns out they went in a different astronomical direction.I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -
I feel exactly opposite to this. Give me at least eight new songs in a 24-song set.HailHailVitalogy said:Just hoping we don’t get 5-7 new songs on a 24 song set. 3 new songs is fine. Some of the 2022 shows were so gigaton and ten heavy. 2023 was perfectI gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -
All valid and fair.BF25394 said:

Rarity is a matter of perspective. These songs do not stay in the set list for long because the audience is so resistant to anything new, so they may not seem rare when they're being played almost every night on the Gigaton tour, but they will become rare when they disappear from the live set once the next album comes around. Think of the songs from Pearl Jam, Backspacer and Lightning Bolt that were played on those tours and never heard again. If you were seeing a bunch of shows in 2006 and thinking, when they played, say, "Marker in the Sand"-- "this again?"-- it might have helped to remember that, in 2024, there will be people praying for them to play that now-rarity.aisleseats said:
I was really looking forward to them when the album came out. And I ended up getting all of them except for Comes Then Goes. But I got a lot of them repeatedly (8 times for DOTC). So it got to the point where I dreaded it every time they'd start to play one, especially with the shorter setlists. That just meant one less chance for a rarity.JimmyV said:
I am in the opposite camp. Saw three Gigaton shows between 2022 and 2023, but only got to hear five tracks combined from the album. That was disappointing. Love the old stuff, but I do still want to hear the new stuff.HailHailVitalogy said:Just hoping we don’t get 5-7 new songs on a 24 song set. 3 new songs is fine. I only made it to 1 Gigaton show (woulda been 2 but Indy…) and those are the exact 3 I got. I hope QE and Retrograde survive to the next tour because those were the 2 I was really hoping for.JimmyV said:
I hear you. Repeats were an issue. By luck of the draw I got Who Ever Said, DOTC and Seven O'clock all more than once.aisleseats said:

Retrograde in St Louis was by far my favorite song of the show! When they stood up from sitting in the chairs and the lights came up half way through the song... so amazing!deb1211 said:Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Is an Uber ride from the airport to the downtown core reasonable?OceanSoul71 said:100 Pacer said:Surprised by the lack of hotel options in downtown Portland. Just booked the Crowne Plaza which looks to be a 10 minute walk from the venue. Should fill up pretty quickly once announced.

That sounds like a good time and part of me wants to do it that way, but I'm likely going to bring my 8 year old (his first show!) which will be getting STARTED after his usual bedtime so it'll be a sober night and trip straight back to the house for us. At least the rumored date is a Friday. I'm sure the high of experiencing a Pearl Jam show through his eyes and ears will be all I need.OceanSoul71 said:100 Pacer said:Surprised by the lack of hotel options in downtown Portland.
