I’m split on these. I just don’t think the faux road worn look is for me. I might go for a Kim Thayil Guild instead.

    They're actual scrapes, dings, dents.

    Nice!

I think most of it is done via template stickers they put on before spraying, and even between finish layers. Then they peel the stickers off to leave the wear pattern. Then they go back and ding/scratch it up a bit.

Here are pics of mine that shows what I mean… you can see the largest areas that I think were covered with a template sticker pre-finish. Then the edge where they clearly dragged it across something, getting into the wood. And then very small spots where they likely banged and scratched it with something post-finish.

Oh no. Why did you have to tell me this. The signature Guild looks amazing. Another added to the guitar want list.

That’s cool! Someone on The Gear Page last week said he had seen Mike playing the new ones live already, but I had not seen confirmation. That will probably help sell a few more!

I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.

My Fender Strat finally arrived and when I took it out of the case a little black spring popped out from somewhere and fell on the floor. It not obviously missing from the guitar but I have a feeling it was inside the tremolo bar attachment hole. Does anyone know what this is or how I correctly put it back in?

Out of the box, the bridge should have had a little round sticker covering the hole where the bar goes. That sticker is to keep the tension spring from falling out. Just drop the spring back in the hole before you put the bar on.
