GlowGirl said:That is AWESOME!!!! Congrats. Amazing achievement. 👏👏👏 I haven’t been posting much on here because I’m not really training for anything. Just doing my same three runs a week. But I am following you all here who are doing these spectacular runs and it is still very motivating to me.Post edited by beano.79 on0

beano.79 said:GlowGirl it wouldn't be the same here without you, that's the best thing about running, we all have our own stories/ journeys with running, different reasons for doing it, and it's all important an amazing. I've said before what this little thread and it's little community means to me, it's awesome0

Taking a week or 2 totally off now, get myself recovered, next year I have a spring marathon, a summer 46 mile ultra and then in September I'm back at the robinhood 100 miler in Sherwood forest...
5 main races this year....
9th place
Race cancelled
DNF
90 minute half marathon
3rd place.
A mixed bag but all valuable experiences0 -
Met with a sports medicine pain specialist today. Scheduled for an ultrasound guided trigger point injection in 2 weeks. Can't wait to see if it is what I need to get rid of this issue.0

Hope it works!
How are our racers feeling....everything ok?The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

GlowGirl said:Good luck. I hope it helps. Today I did weights for the first time in a few weeks. Now my lower back is tweaky. Sigh!! Tomorrow I will run.0

beano.79 said:Recovered quite well actually, was expecting to be sore for longer. Enjoying this week of relaxing after work instead of running though 😁NewfieintheUSA said:My injection has been moved up to next week! I am supposed to do weights tomorrow again, but may hold off. Next run is Saturday.
Hope yours improves! The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

More good news!
Sorry to hear. Mine is still acting up, although I admit I'm back to full exercise regiment and some of them are specifically aimed at the back.
Hope yours improves!

Ran a kids 1 miler with the 9 year old this morning....followed by a brief rest and a 5k dressed as an elf.
I was a few seconds off my time from last year but finished 5th in my age group.
The son got 2nd overall in the 1 miler. Ran a 6:51.
I blame him for my slower 5k, since I didn't expect my warm up mile (normally a 9 or 10 slow jog) to be a sub 7!
Very proud of the little guy, and he was proud of himself. He trained fairly well and last year he ran a low 9 minute mile, so he too off more than 2 minutes from his previous best.
He is small for 9 as well, he loved zooming past all of the taller kids.
He made a big push to catch the winner, but the kid saw him coming and kicked it in over the final hundred yards to stave off Tommy. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

I got my trigger point injection today. Dr said I can try running this weekend. I'm hopeful this does the trick. Leg is a bit sore today, so hard to tell right now if it is helping or not0
