May as well swing by Split Rock Lighthouse while you're up there. Don't forget to stop off for a pint at Dangerous Man Brewing. And grab a slice at Betty's Pies.RatherStarved said:
Sounds amazing, will look it up. ThxDirty Frank Z said:
There are parks right off the main drag (Which 35/61 turn into) in Duluth. Those are great and well marked.RatherStarved said:
Thanks for these ideas. Any recommendations for a good spot to see Lake Superior? I’m aware it’s at least a 2-3 hour drive.kdiddy said:
Where ya staying? State Fair is something to behold if you're up for another crowd filled day. Saints baseball game is on Friday I hear. Thats a fun time, and affordable. Plenty of breweries and restaurants to check out. Some folks are hiking it over to Chanhassen to see Prince's Paisley Park. Ummmm.. Stillwater is a lovely town to check out if you want to get out of the cities.RatherStarved said:Hi all, I haven’t read the whole thread so apologies if this is already covered but looking for the top 2-3 things to see while in the twin cities for the shows. Thanks for any and all ideas.
But if you are really wanting to hit the north shore, you should just drive all the way to Gooseberry Falls. which is about 30/40 minutes past Duluth. Its a free state park and I think everyone reading this would concur its gorgeous and awesome.
 Good luck!0

Bus passes can be used on all Metro Transit busses which go.. metro-wide. You might also be able to use it on the light-rail but that might be a different pass or level of pay. https://www.metrotransit.org/schedules-mapsReleaseMe said:Morning Folks!

Coming in from Atlanta and staying by the venue. Are there any cool/funky neighborhoods to check out that are walkable with bars to bounce in and out of? I don't mind taking an Uber somewhere that might have some record stores, funky stores, bars, etc. Anything like that around?0

Also to any of the locals, What is the best sports bar? Looking to watch the Miami Hurricanes football game on Friday night. We are staying right next to the arena. Are there any good bars in St. Paul? or should we head west over to the Gateway district?CL286295 said:Coming in from Atlanta and staying by the venue. West Seventh outside of the Xcel Center is a good stretch of bars.
Lower Town St. Paul has some great bars to hop in and out of.
Grand Ave has some lively bars, too.
Those are general areas. I'm sure others will read this and throw in their two cents. But all of those areas are easily accessible from the Xcel.0

Alary's closed mid-June. Will be a new bar, but to my knowledge it's not opened back up yet. Shame they closed, always liked stopping in there.Brannigans law said:

Anywhere in particular in Minneapolis that you would suggest? I have no problem taking a trip over there, but I'm just not familiar with area, so any suggestions would be appreciated.CM189191 said:

Marijuana is now legal in MN? I'm guessing there's no "legal" dispensaries open for awhile. Anyone know of any local shops in the area to grab a few pre rolls or edibles?0

Although now legal to possess, consume, and grow your own, the only places you can buy cannabis at until 2025 are two tribal reservations in northern MN. With that said, you can purchase some edibles (no flower), but it’s limited to doses of 5mg of THC or a total of 50mg per package. Basically, you can buy a pack of THC gummies containing 10 gummies with 5mg of THC. It’s silly and ass-backwards.DukeSpirit said:Marijuana is now legal in MN? Prices aren’t terrible either.

Honestly, things haven't been the same here in a while. Downtown Minneapolis is questionable at best. Uptown Minneapolis ain't what it used to be either.CL286295 said:

You might take the train to U of MN campus area. Surly Brewing and O'Shaughnessy Distilling are near there.
Northeast Minneapolis has been growing significantly in recent years. There's a lot of art studios, breweries and restaurants there.
Electric Fetus is worth a visit too.
Don't look to me for any advice on the St Paul area. It's nice enough, I just don't spend a lot of time in that side of town.0
