    I don't get too worked about the polls.  They were tight leading into 2020 and tight leading into 2022, yet the D's won pretty convincingly, all things considered.  Remember that the polls are only as good as how they weight Ds and R's. That's what Rasmussen always gives the R's a better showing than others, because they believe that R's make up a bigger proportion of the electorate than the other polls.  And so if you put enough of these together, then average them like RCP does, well it looks tighter than it is.  

    Here's the other thing. Now these polls all seem to be done through SMS.  I answered one a month ago, and now I'm getting hit with them once per week.  They are selling and sharing data of responders.  So the polls are starting to be self-fulfilling.  People who answer them, answer more of them.

    To be fair, I believe Biden lead every head to head with Trump and was up by 4-5% (might've been less) on average at this point 4 years ago. But I'm not concerned about the polls either. Next year is going to be an absolute bloodbath for republicans with Trump at the top of the ticket. Not just headlines, but all of our lives will be consumed by all of his trials next year. There will be no escaping it. It will be one of the ugliest years in our country's history and most people will recognize it is one man's fault---this will especially be true if the Georgia one is televised.

    Right now, I believe people are too consumed with every day life/summer time stuff, to pay attention. Plus, while overall inflation has come down a lot, people are still feeling it. A record number of people are living paycheck to paycheck right now, a record amount of credit card debt is out there, and plenty of people cannot afford to buy a house and those who did buy or refi during the pandemic sort of feel like they cannot move if they wanted to or else their payment will shoot up hundreds due to higher rates. ---All this shit will take a backseat to trials of the biggest piece of shit who ever occupied the white house next year. 

    So my prediction is:
    If Trump is the nominee, he will lose yet again to Biden. Margin of victory will be greater than before.

    If Trump is not the nominee, he will try to sabotage whoever is the nominee...regardless, a sizeable portion of his deplorable base will stay home...or invade the Capital again--who knows? And Biden will still win.
