DonJon (or anyone else who works in the city!), I'm working at the boat show tomorrow and probably knocking off about 3 or 3.30 so if you're keen for a beery or two after work just say the word and I'll let ya know what's going on...just say the word! Probably won't be around too long because we'll probably get a 4.40 train home so just putting the invite out there.

    How's things team :D

my work has a booth on the 'super government' stand as they call it along with fisheries, water police, NSW maritime, etc...I work for the hydrographic office compiling nautical charts. So we get free entry, paid a normal day, only work from 10-3 or so, accrue flex from the time we leave home til the time we walk back in our door (hence the appeal to unfortunately miss the early train and have a beer before the next one leaves ;) ) and I've been told there's a real cute blondie working for the Department of lands in the booth next to ours so it should be a sweet day!! woo! ;)

spewing about the no joy on the boat though stu...its the last day tomorrow so everyone might be too concerned about packing up so ya might be able to sneak on somewhere tomorrow night haha

    crazy kids!

oops didnt notice that first time...:)
Do u think his top lip is wrong or both??
I cant believe how quickly u can draw....
  • zenithzenith Posts: 3,191
nah - top lip too long, bottom lip a little too full - ill get the trusty erasor onto it - strange little tip too - i cut my erasors with a really sharp knife, or sometimes even shave the edge off to get a really sharp point, then you can do fine little detail work, or add some highlights

anyway - i still have a hand to add to this - im finding a simple hand really hard to capture, and dont have a reference for what it to be like, so im thinking i might put mine on the photocopier at work tomorrow ..

heh ... ed with my fingerprints :)

there is a faint outline of a hand - i always do a super light supa quick start before i go onto shading and detail - the hand just isnt behaving the way i see it in my mind - but it will...

ive got two ideas - one flat, like on a glass pane - and one ... a sort of finger point i guess, touching the pane - glass pane ... tis weird sounding i guess - i know how i want it to look, i just have to transfer the picca in my head to paper - i guess it's a sort of metaphor for him being 'on show' but watching back just as intently from the other side??

but onto different things - how bloody cool is that ev/batman poster - goddamn i wish they'd stop doing this to us!!! people already think my house looks like some sort of pj shrine

I can totally visualise what u mean about the finger point that sounds a cool idea....Yeah I love the Batman poster are there 2 different coloured posters....
I think Im just going to be strong and go back to just buying the shows that attend..
If I do the 3 melb shows if there are 3 thats 3 more posters if I do more than that Im guessing that could be 12 more posters....

I would love Klausen to do an Aussie poster not that Im bagging Beyond the Pale cos they did an awesome job with the 2006.

And yes Thank God they have finally seemed to have disappeared of ebay after nearly 2 yrs....YAY!!!!

Joel, timing was all wrong mate, the most you've posted in 6 months or something and i'm not here  haha, hope ya have fun at the boat show, try your best with the little blondie ;)

Lindy, how long does it take you to do a picture like the Ed one, if you worked on it consistently? It looks great, the eyes are spot on, he really looks intense (just the way I like 'im)

    *sigh* another day....
