well, its either this or the band finds a field somewhere in each state to play. TM owns the whole industry. If PJ wants to play, they have to at least somewhat play by their rules. TM doesn't give 2 shits if PJ tours or not. They have plenty other bands that will play ball. You can thank your local congressman that doesn't give a shit about monopolies. The TM monopoly is just one of many that they completely ignore at the expense of regular people.

There is other options. Look at what Zach Bryan is doing. He completely removed Ticketmaster from the process and is playing large venues. If you want to remove Ticketmaster, it can be done.

Can't remember PJ Premium or TM Platinum being restricted to verified fans only like today is. Maybe it has been this way before, anyone else know?

It was like this last tour. This is a presale, they won't be restricted when the general on sale happens.

I'll play devil's advocate for the sake of the conversation... I don't recall seeing too many people who put in for St Paul get rejected.

Could accepting the premium ticket sales have been a tradeoff to getting more tickets allocated to the fan club?

Interesting. I'd be curious if the non ticketmaster venues are any better. Any large promoter is going to get their cut. Live nation has control over a lot of them in most cities so i'm curious where he is playing. Good on him though.

We can't see it now, but all the shows were listed as:

Fan-Verified Presale 10am

and

PJ Premium 10am

No mention of needing Fan-Verified for Premiums/Platinums, and no mention of the Premiums being a "presale"; never seen that before

Good point. The other thread poll showed that 90% got tix? Small sample of course, but that seems pretty good. I certainly saw a lot less "gutted" and "shut out" posts vs years past.

Yea, the faq for this tour kinda makes it sound like this VF sale is the public sale, not a presale.

"Public tickets will be available through Ticketmaster Verified Fan Registration. Verified Fan ticket registration is open now through Tuesday, April 25 at 5 pm PT." .. "The Verified Fan Onsale will begin on Friday, April 28 at 10 a.m. local venue time."

Looking at his tour I recognize at least one venue, he is playing the BOK Center in Tulsa, which PJ played back in 2014. It must not be exclusive to TM.

Lets make some assumptions. 20,000 ticket venue

10k fan club tix at $162 (50%) $1.6 mm
2k premium tix at $1000 (10%) $2 mm
2k verified fan tix at $162 (10%) $324k
6k misc* (30%) $0

*promoter, friends and family, venue, ticketmaster, etc etc etc

$3,924,000**

**not accounting for venue cost, security, travel, staffing etc

Assuming thats the number all parties need. No premium means the avg ticket price, fan club and verified, would need to be $280 right?

How would you suggest making up that $1-2 mm?

Cost of doing business goes up. Do you

1. eat it
2. raise prices
3. find a way to offset it

It's a fan-verified presale for all tickets right now, which includes premium. Doesn't matter what the individual tickets are being listed as, you need to be a verified fan to get into the presale.
