There's also like an 8 minute version with a cool jam on the end from the Japan 03 tour. I'm not quite sure about the specifics of that version.
off the top of my head, i'm thinking nagoya. the one where they have a 6 minute jam/improv right before it, right? damn, all those japan shows are unreal. they are are favorites of mine, some of the best of the tour, easily.6/26/98, 8/17/00, 10/8/00, 12/8/02, 12/9/02, 4/25/03, 5/28/03, 6/1/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 6/6/03, 6/12/03, 6/13/03, 6/15/03, 6/18/03, 6/21/03, 6/22/03, 7/12/03, 7/14/03, 10/3/04, 10/5/04, 9/9/05, 9/11/05, 9/16/05, 5/16/06, 5/17/06, 5/19/06, 6/30/06, 7/23/06, 8/5/07, 6/30/08, 8/23/09, 8/24/09, 5/4/10, 5/7/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 10/11/13, 10/17/14, 8/20/160 -

Nagoya is right. I was at that show and it was great! Definitely one of my favorite moments of the Japan tour. I so wish they would release a DVD of one or all of these shows- they were such great shows!
Sweet improv too!0 -

Thanks for this clip...I've been absolutely in love with this version of this song since I first heard it broadcast on the radio the day of the show. But what the hell is the little intro Ed does? Does anyone have any more info on it?
For some reason that arrangement of notes just rips the heartstrings...and imagine my shock to see it again on the Immagine in Cornice dvd.0 -

its just a fiddly little play on the same chords as the song. Cadd9? and Em.
ed brought it back in 06 and 07. see adelaide 1 2006 and wembley 2007. wembley was a magnificent version, but unfortunately the recording going around just doesnt do it justice.Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.0 -
