    I believe Ishmael by Daniel Quinn influenced DTE. I recommend.

    About 20 years ago they all gave book ideas in a newsletter. Zinn, Quinn, and others were on it. They just released a reading list a few months ago too

    100 times yes! Even if you don’t agree with everything he says, the perspective he lays out is fascinating.

    Checking over the list, I looked up Madman's Drum and discovered it is actually a wordless novel, which sounds fascinating.  I am currently 2/3 of the way through Blood Meridian so I could probably use a break from words after I finish.

    Russell Banks was one of my favorite authors. After reading Affliction, Sweet Hereafter and Continental Drift, I was all in. Sweet Hereafter, in particular, reminded me of the melancholic landscape of my childhood. His book of short stories, The Angel on the Roof, is one of my go-to collections. Rest easy and thank you for the beautiful, insightful distractions. #russellbanks
