And when/if tRump announces he's running he is going to be challenged for his insurrection thingy.

Desantis is the new GOP hero. I can't wait for tRump to take the GOP down with him. It's going to be beautiful.

I think you are both right.  Trump will not go down quietly and he will damage Ron D all the way.  Who knows, he could have dirt or more likely, just make up stuff about him that the right wing buys.  I think the next week will be interesting to see if Trump starts going after him, considering Ron over performed expectations and Trump well under-performed.

I'm curious about why tRump decided to wait to announce. But yeah...he's going to splinter the party.

I think Trump's done. If there was one long-term GOP winner yesterday it was DeSantis. Florida decided it was ready for the Handmaid's Tail and the rest of the country, by-and-large went against Trump's people (Save that pitiful lowlife JD Vance) and most election deniers.

I actually want Trump to stick around as much as he can...if people don't think he'll try to bring the party down out of spite, then they just don't know Donald Trump.

Yeah I've been saying this for a while.....as horrible as it is to have to endure Trump's omnipresence....him sticking around and making himself front and center is really good news for the democrats.

Trump trying to destroy Desantis, while likely under indictment, will be quite entertaining.

Trump is 'livid' and 'screaming' his head off after disappointing midterm elections for the GOP, an advisor said

Former President Donald Trump "is livid" and "screaming at everyone" after many Republican candidates backed by him underperformed in Tuesday's midterm elections, an advisor to Trump told CNN.

Trump had endorsed more than 330 GOP candidates running for both state and federal office in this election cycle, but a much-anticipated "red wave" of Republican victories never came in the fight for control of Congress.

"Candidates matter," the Trump advisor, who was not named, told CNN on Wednesday, adding, "They were all bad candidates."

If the GOP is smart, they hitch themselves to the clear 2 term presidency of DeSantis. Trump can't beat Biden, but DeSantis will stomp Biden.
    It's a hopeless situation...

  • Last I heard, POOTWH was blaming Melanka Darlink for his backing of Oz. Now, if she’d only leave him. For Deathsantis.

    CNN —

As votes rolled in from across the country Tuesday night, Donald Trump said something truly incredible when asked about how much credit or blame he should get for the election results.

“I think if they win, I should get all of the credit, and if they lose, I should not be blamed at all,” Trump told NewsNation, adding: “But it will probably be just the opposite.”

That's true. But I wonder whether his base is shrinking.  I would guess...just on my gut, the DeSantis would be easily preferred to the Man Baby at in the party at this point.

POOTWH’s solid base of deplorables is about 25% of the 35% that never budges and is always wholly onboard with whatever extremist position POOTWH takes. It’s the indies that’ll flock to Deathsantis and he’ll need a % of POOTWH’s base to win the nomination. Romney repubs won’t be enough but 6%-12% of POOTWH’s base might be enough.

I think the republican need to take the next several years and get their heads out of that MAGA dark place that has turned them into a bad joke.

In a vacuum, at this point and with this atmosphere, Desantis probably does beat Biden handily.

However, the Republicans have a huge problem.  Trump is going to have a tacky announcement in 2 weeks he is running for president. Him and Desantis are going to fight like dogs.  Republicans overall prefer Desantis at this point.  Trump's ego and his mental illness will not allow him to let it go, especially against someone who he gives himself credit for creating.  Trump will tear apart the house on his way out and I bet he runs to spite the Republican party and Desantis and he will maintain his most devout cult members.
The Frankenstein monster the Republicans and Republican party has built will finally rise and smash apart the lab and turn on his masters.  They have it coming.
