    An album that took two years, or 8 weeks to create, depending on how you look at it. And a 4 year interim since Backspacer. Yet, totally worth the wait!

    Great trip down memory lane.
    I couldn't wait to possibly hear some of LB at the London show.

    Yep. Three years ago today the Lightning Bolt album came out. The 10/15/13 show in Worcester, MA was just f'n incredible. My first PJ show. Time flies.

    A lot can happen in three years.

    Oct 15, 2013, I was alone for the first time in pretty much ever. By this time in my life, I'd escaped a volatile marriage where every day was like walking on eggshells and I never knew what I was coming home to; and then most recently an ultra-volatile rebound relationship. That summer I decided to just do my own thing and take it easy. I was relearning how to enjoy my own company. I was cooking gourmet meals for myself and friends who dropped in. I figured out a better solution to my migraine headaches (thank you, medical marijuana). I was excited to know what the future held - especially with tickets to see Pearl Jam three times that Fall. I was calling my own shots, not beholden to anyone. I didn't have to answer to anyone but myself.

    Lightning Bolt became the soundtrack to my life, and has stuck around ever since. Every song meant something different to me, but I can apply fond, happy memories to all of them.

    I was happy again. I still am.

    And to make matters better, I met this really incredible girl just days before catching PJ at home here in Phoenix, and then again in San Diego.

    In the time since, I've lived my best life. Concerts galore. Travel to places I've never been to before. Visiting Las Vegas more times than I can count - and seeing the city from a better perspective than just the Strip. New friends. Better career opportunities. And the cherry on top: I married that incredible girl. I never knew marriage could be like this. I don't have any idea how I could live without her.

    There are some albums I can't listen to anymore because of the memories associated with them.

    That will never apply to Lightning Bolt.

    Three years.

    The best damn three years of my life.

    A great story that mirrors my own. Except now we have eachother and a new pj baby. As far as the album goes i spun it yesterday and i found i only like 3 or 4 songs now . Odd but true
