A festival set, but in a good way? This was for all fans, but especially ones who live in the flyover states who were maybe big in to PJ in the 90's, fell off, and were open to a taste of their most current work?

Agreed. Purple Rain into YLB would be an excellent ending. Just ending on Purple Rain…not so much.

This is one of their better covers in recent years and it’s going to wear out its welcome being played so frequently.

They should play When The Doves Cry. Only Ed should change the lyrics to

Maybe I'm just in a rock band
Maybe I like playing cool songs, not sold?
Maybe you're just like a Trumper
    They’re never satisfied (never satisfied)

The setlist was good as was the band and it was only a 3 hour drive from Nashville, not even, so an easy and worthwhile add on.  I actually preferred it to the Nashville show.

That being said I would probably not do the Bourbon and Beyond Festival again in the future for reasons that I will send to the organizers when I have a chance.

Solid festival set. Everyone shitting on Gigaton - I don’t get it. Every new album gets a tepid respond. Get over it. Keep crying for the old stuff and we won’t have a touring band anymore.

Agreed. I saw most of Giga between Ottawa to Toronto and the trackds are really solid live.

Whoever Said and Never Destination are good enough live to become tour staples

Never understood this thread.. who r the big PJ fans on this site at the show, chimng in during show instead of watching show? So insane but that's normal here
A buddy is simply typing in the song names as they come, or using voice text & hitting send to me. There are hundreds of people buried in their phones at these shows. He is not.

And a lot of us dig watching/playing along for shits n' giggles while we work, or if we're doing stuff around the house. It's fun & doesn't hurt anyone.
I'm with you - I can't do any shows this year and it's exciting to follow along with the set lists that get posted here. Some nights I'll play the songs as they get posted. Definitely not the same as being there, but it's fun for me.

VIP price required for access within ~50 yards of the stage but not a VIP experience IMO.

I'll be surprised if I go back. Maybe I'm just too old for festivals now but holy shit it was a battle. Too many people, gravel to stand on which kills your feet and back. Long lines for everything.

Yes that happened but I was hoping for it over the past three attended so it worked for me.

Got so many I had hoped for over these past few days…emphasis on rats, buckle up, 7 o’clock, not for you, garden….this list goes on and on.  I’m a happy fan today.  And they sounded (imo) exceptional.

The festival had a tight time restriction…PJ had to end at 11pm sharp.  GVF played 5 minutes over their allotment until 9…PJ started around 9:10/9:15 which was after their 9pm listed start time.  At 10:54, Ed said they had 5 minutes left to play what is normally a 10 minute song…they filled out the show to the last available second.  Unthought Known and Yellow Ledbetter were scratched from the written setlist…casualties of festival timing.  Would have loved the full intended setlist, but given lemons they made lemonade.

Yeah the whole VIP thing was kind of BS.  The seating map was deceiving and made it look like the VIP area was about 5-10% of the venue when it was probably closer to 30%.  And they make it sound like you have special access to food water stations a shaded area with couches etc which you do but again your sharing it with like 25k other people so the lines are still long.  The stage was also probably a good 15 yards from the front of the crowd.  Saws lot of pics fall short of making it to the crowd.

I did like the set up with the two stages side by side and they kept the music going.  Only about a 5 min break in between bands.  But just the sheer number of people made it difficult to get a good spot for both stages.  I figured I’d be able to go back and forth between the stages and still have decent spot but if you wanted a good spot for the PJ stage you pretty much had to sacrifice seeing the other stage.

I second this.  There were actually 3 interpreters I believe and they rotated throughout.  They all rocked out the whole time.  Eddie even noticed and was trying to mimic some of their moves during the instrumentals.  We had so many questions afterwords like do they have a teleprompter of the lyrics?  How accurate are they etc..  They were awesome.
