By the time I was able to verify the serial and production numbers, someone else arranged to buy it.  If that deal doesn't go down, I'm next in to buy.

I just missed out on a great deal for a Gibson Firebird. I spent about 48hrs going back an forth and then decided to go for it. When I called to say I'll take it, I was told it sold an hour before I called. I'm still smarting from this one.

Another custom shop came up for $3K.  NOS roasted ash body w/ roasted maple neck ... I have to admit this is a nice looking guitar!

It has nice specs, but not a '59 or '60 spec.  '64 pickups with a blend knob for adding the neck pickup to the others.  I figure this is about $1.6K savings vs buying from Sweetwater.  Looks like the seller bought it during the pandemic and never played it.

That is another sweet looking Strat! The grain on the body is fantastic and I love the baked maple neck.

The $9,999 Noel Gallagher ES-355 and $899 Epiphone Riviera released this week gives me some hope that a lower priced version could be in the future.

Well, I got sick a few weeks ago, and in boredom started organizing my closet and found a significant amount of cash that I had completely forgotten about ... I don't even remember where it came from.  Anywho, the guitar hadn't sold and I cut a deal.  It is even better looking in person!  And it feels perfect.  The moment I picked it up it just felt right.

So I guess this takes me out of the McCready strat wait list.  At least until it is announced of course.

And when talking with the guy who sold it, I mentioned the small town I grew up in and that is where his best friend grew up ... turns out his friend's mom was my piano teacher when I was a kid (that just wanted to play baseball at the time).  Small world!

(note to self:  clean entire house in search of more money)

Mystery closet cash... that's awesome. Congrats on what looks to be an incredible guitar!

My comic book collection is at the back of my storage closet and I can't get to them because all my music gear is in the way. I have two copies of Amazing Spider-Man #50. One is valued around $600, and the other around $2400. I just picked up the keys to my new rehearsal studio today, and all that gear is being moved from the storage closet to the new studio on Saturday. I plan on selling the higher valued copy and putting the $$ towards a new guitar. So I guess I have a little closet cash, kinda sort of.

    Comics?

I'm curious.  DM me and maybe we can work something out.

Does anyone have any current info on this?  I’m not familiar with what the production timeline would look like pre-COVID, nor what the supply chain issues might have had with this in the last year or two?

Curious if anyone has heard anything about this recently. I can only find info from an article from about a year ago.

Nope 😆 They're starting to show up at stores. Got mine from Eddie's Guitars in St. Louis.

I texted my Sweetwater rep.  He hooked me up with the Masterbuilt version.  Will see what he says.

Never been there. I watch their Reverb store and it popped up. Called to confirm what it was and bought it. Will have it in my hands tomorrow. One other shop had one on Reverb, but it sold within minutes.

Nothing on the Fender site about it but it comes up on Eddie’s Guitars when you Google it. Something is a bit odd??

In my experience, this is the way it usually happens. Small allotments get out to small mom pop shops well before the big stores get theirs. Sometimes even getting out there before the press announcements on Fender’s site.
I have one on the way as well.
