    no it's dead :-(
It explains why our water and electricity bills have been through the roof  So much for thinking we were being environmentally friendly (having solar hot water) when it's just been leaking gawd knows how many litres of water a day all over the roof and electric booster permanently on
My problem now is getting quotes from friggen places that won't get back to me and then getting someone to come up here to install one in the near future  (beside the fact it's gonna cost $$Thousands$ :( )

I spent half of today running around friggen carpet shops, trying to find new carpet for the lounge room. I got some in the end....just waiting for them to phone and let me know when they can get it and then come up to lay it. I looked at so many different carpets that I can't even really remember what I got now :s

    FAAAAAAAARK!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    that's no good mate :(

solar hot water systems are good but yeah, you need to keep an eye on them...it sounds like ours is doing the same...cant get more than half a bath of hot water then we need the booster on...

Have you got a fire at yours? You can get some pipes that run through your fire and it heats up the water instead of using the booster...

And of course you get rebates for solar hot water, and if you go from solar to solar you get more of a rebate from the government....

Yeah we've got an electric booster and have a water jacket on the wood stove in the kitchen :)
It's a really old system, so we knew it would need replacing sooner or later. I s'pose it's better for it to happen while we're still here, rather than when we come back for holidays after we move East  We have to get a dearer model too, because we get the below 0 temperatures up here. I hate spending money on this kinda shit

I think the rebate is higher when you go from electric to solar?

True mate, and atleast with a new system you can kinda sit back and know it'll be a while until you need another, plus you'll get a warranty :)

We had a plumber out a couple of weeks ago to do some work, and we were talking about getting a new hws cause ours is shit...he is a rep for some type of solar hws and he told us you get more rebabte if you go from solar to solar??
Unless he was being silly
