    they aren’t totally wrong. I’d imagine a lot would switch sides or refuse to carry out orders 

    our military can’t defeat insurgents in other countries, and it’s impossible to defeat an ideology.

    There have been people who have ran from prison before.  eugene debs got 4% in 1920 from prison. coincidentally jailed and convicted for violating anti-sedition laws

    The statute specifically states that you cannot hold federal office.  It also states you forfeit your current office. That's not true of other crimes.  So yes, a convicted murderer can be president because neither a statute or Constitution prohibits it.  This particular law does.  I'll see if I can find it.

    I guess a law is a law until it’s challenged.  I would think it adds a stipulation not listed in the constitution 

    the fact we need to determine if a convicted criminal can be president in the first place shows the mess we are in

    Anything not in the Constitution is left to either the state or the legislative branch.  In this case, the legislative branch addressed it.  

    Edit - in thinking about it, you may be right inasmuch as the qualifications are set forward.  It would be a helluva challenge.

    Sandy Berger was fined $50K, had to perform 100 hours of community service, was put on probation for two years and lost his law license for removing a couple of documents related to his conduct as NSA director. This is a wee little bit more serious than that.

    Which is why the cult shouldn't set any of the criteria about what's suitable evidence for any of his crimes and which of his crimes deserve punishment. He committed multiple crimes out in the open and they laughed it off. Manafort just said he shared polling data with Russians, which was something also pointed out in the Steele Dossier. Not one of them is suddenly going to see this and say "wow, I guess the dossier had valid stuff in it".

    At this point I don't give a shit if anything blows up in anyone's face. I don't care if it's divisive and I don't want to hear about how we need to come to the center and heal the divide. Depending on how serious the classified info is, this could be one of his more minor crimes. If we can't have him held accountable just for this, we're screwed for at least the next 30 years.
