First Time Attempting GA & the Quest For a Tambourine

Greetings, Jamily! So, I was sitting on a perfectly good 3rd row seat from 10c, almost dead center, and no one behind me (still am, but TBD). But the other day, I saw a GA ticket on F2F while doing my update for the Face Value ticket thread I put out there.
I figured: "ah, f*** it. DO THE THING!" So I did. And I got it!
SO... here's where I'm at: I usually like a seat, but I'm willing to finally take the dive & do GA. I gotta decide to list one of them by tomorrow, or show day.
I don't arrive in Vegas until 2:45-ish pm, and I have no idea what I'm doing. I want to go to my hotel by the Convention Center, but I hear GA is an all-day investment.
I'm not down with the number/clipboard thing, but I'm a good line buddy. Once toughed out 3 consecutive days of 8 to 13 hr waits for OG Hamilton, and scored on the 3rd try!
I'm good with letting other people take small breaks, bathroom, food, etc. What's YOUR experience like? Can I line up, and then go check in & maybe shower up? Can I bring some grub to share? Dare I say beer??
My ultimate goal is to find a decent spot in the pit, and catch a tambo (for this show) & maybe a pick or 2. For me. Never to be sold.
I know I won't make the rail gang, but what do you think my odds are? Do I have your support?
Hopefully my thread on guessing the 2022 dates helped you book some cheap travel? (I was right since Nov. '21 about LA 1 & 2!!)
Did my poor attempt being Dimitri help you enjoy the Feb./March Eddie tour? (Nobody beats Dimi)
Did this one help you avoid Premium & hold out for better seats at a fair price?

Any & all advice welcome. Any help & brotherly love is ESPECIALLY welcome. And for those who know, I got your back if you ever come to Florida ;) Thanks!!

UPDATE: got all my Vegas shit cancelled with little to no fuss. Hope Matt, Jeff & Ed feel better.

The sun will rise another day🌄

I am in almost the exact same situation! I already had a very nice seat just off to the side and then I got really lucky yesterday and was able to grab a GA ticket. Before the GA ticket I was already stressing about getting to the merch in time.

I don't really have anything else to offer other than a sympathetic ear to your dilemma (what a great dilemma to have!).  :D

My two cents is to do all your other business first and then join the line around 4:00.  You should still get a great spot, and if you’re not after rail, then I don’t think 2:30 vs 4:30 makes a tonne of difference.  I’ve lined up for 6 hrs or done 1/2 hr before and it wasn’t a massive difference in spot.

I’d go in expecting no pics or tambourines and if one comes your way it’s a huge bonus.

Have a blast and enjoy the show.

I don't anticipate this in Vegas, but it looks like the venue in SAC was doing secondary wristbands & numbers written on them outside of the band's purview. I'd much rather have an understanding with everyone else in line, rather than piss anyone off. Curious to see if the band's mgmt will address it.

Shout dirty frank repeatedly all night. Almost a lock for a tambourine then. Or bring a girl/child.

In both SD and LA we got in the GA line about 4 and both times one person back from the rail on Mikes side. Fo Vegas we are doing the same, about 4. Also, after getting our spot once inside there was plenty of space close up to 7 pm

I walked in at 7 the other night and was about four back right in front of Mike. Several people around me when home with tambourines.

Nope. Literally just got off the phone with Delta. Got flight credits squared away, and hotel cancelled without penalty while I was on hold.

It sucks, but at least I did LA 1 & 2. Now, instead of one day of MegaCon, I can do the whole weekend here. But thanks for the vote of confidence 😘

Glad you were able to get your travel squared away, too bad I won't be seeing you in the pit. Ed tossed me a tambo at LA1 and I was totally shocked. Was standing a few deep in the middle and didn't get there until GA doors at 5:30
