katowice -> Krakow Train

edited March 2007 in Given To Fly (live)
For the people who will take Krakow->Venice (14/6)...

Here is timetable trains from Katowice to Krakow on that morning:
1. 4.50 -> 6.22
2. 7.31 -> 8.56
3. 10.12 -> 11.48

I think the 2nd train is better...
Any other options?

    I am from the States and I will be traveling alone, so any help will be great. I will be happy on taking that second train as well. Please PM me so I will know what trains I will need to get around Europe. I have spares for Munich, Katowice, Venice, and London... So any help or advice will be great...

    Thanks,

    Rodger

    Anyone knows how much a taxi to Krakow would cost?
    the train is all fine but as we can't find any reasonable accommodation in Katowice, we'd rather make our way to Krakow straight away (and waiting the 4.50 is all fine but that means no sleep at all before Venice)

    there's no 1am train afaik...last one is around 10pm.

    found a transfer taxi company.
    770PLN (that's about £133, €198, $261) for 9-16 passengers...so the more the cheapest.

    there's already 6 of us. If you want to join, we'd be leaving after the gig, from the city centre I guess (probably around midnight..should be finished by then).

    please add your name if you're interested:

    Jeff's out, but Emily's US friend Amie is in. So it's still 3 more spots left. If anyone else is confused, this is a 16-seater van to Krakow, departing after the show from the hotel/stadium.

    There is a train at 1:03 a.m. It might be overcrowded though....

    BTW "The Rocking Bus" can take you from the venue to the train station after the show :)

    i think i would like to take the last 2 seats on there if possible please? had my flights changed from wizzair so might go to krakow and fly back from there on 14th rather than hang around katowice airport for 14 hours!!!!!!

    sorry I just realised who was talking :)
    1am? you're sure? can't find it on the polish rail timetable.
    Nevermind, I saw it now...only on the pkp.pl website though, nothing appears on the intercity though..is that normal?

    well, that sounds actually even better...no hurry there..and who cares about full? they don't mind people standing in the corridors I'm sure (they don't in the UK or in France, as long as you have a ticket, so I doubt they'd do in Poland.)

    The Rocking Bus will stay at the stadium all day? so we'd be able to leave our bags on the bus? (or does it depend if it's going back to Munich or not?)

    'cause it's not an intercity train that's why u can't find it there. and of course standing in corridors is absolutely allowed in poland - and a lot of fun after concerts :)

    excellent, sorted..no need for a taxi then (and cheaper on the train anyway)..guess we can buy the ticket at the station on the day (or even on the train?)
