Love them. Tim has to be my favorite album but I'd like to put in an honorable mention for Don't tell a soul. "Talent Show", "Achin to be" and "I'll be you" are great songs. Love the black diamond cover on let it be as well. I listen to their records on a regular basis including pauls solo stuff...14 songs and eventually mostly.

Are there any Mats bootleg collectors here? Ive been downloading every show I find posted on Dime for a few years and the other year after the reissues came out I put together all the studio unreleased stuff that didnt make the the reissues but once I finished that I decided I wanted to do a live covers collection. I know Im missing alot of Replacements shows but I have started piecing it together again. No idea how long it will take to finish this but if anyone else has shows maybe I can get a copy of anything I dont have.

I havent updated it in awhile, maybe I should since I have a few more Mats stuff not there. If you us dc++ I go to the pink floyd echoes hub pretty often.
If Paul and Tommy tour i'll be there but if it never happens i won't be disappointed. Paul has been pretty clear for years he doesn't want to, so he never gave us fans hope so he isn't really letting anyone down.
Heard the new song the other week and its pretty good, right in line with the stuff off of Ghost Gloves... which i thought was a great little EP.
They played my college once. Word got back to the head concert organizer guy that a couple nights earlier Bob Stinson was so drunk he'd come out for the encore with nothing on but his guitar. For some reason that really freaked the organizer guy out, and when the band got there he had something like 20 take out coffees delivered to their dressing room (I guess we didn't have a coffee machine in our auditorium??).
When someone explained to the band why they'd gotten the coffee, they were rather annoyed. I now know what a room looks like after 20 cups of coffee are thrown against the walls. But no one came out nude... and they absolutely rocked!
Been listening to these guys a lot lately....can't believe it took so long for me to discover their greatness. They fucking rock.
Yes! I well remember the night I was watching SNL (hosted that night by the great Harry Dean Stanton!) and some band called the Replacements whom I'd never heard of was on and played a couple of songs that woke me right up! Despite that the behavior of those boys basically got them banned from SNL (though Paul Westerberg did appear a few more times), those performance still hold up great for me. Here's one of the numbers (and if anyone can find a vid with better resolution, please post it):
I just recently really discovered this band thanks to the PJ forum I heard alot of hype about them on here so I thought I'de finally give them a try. I always ment to listen to them because I absolutely loved Paul's songs on the singles soundtrack! But anyway there a great band

By the way, if you never had the chance to check out this magazine, it was one of the best music magazines ever. I wish I had kept all of the ones I had (which were quite a few). At least I did clip some articles and I think I may still have the 'Mats article in the issue above.
