  • Finally signed up for the vault and I get this as the first one.

TBH it’s more worth it to just buy the ones I do want on eBay going forward.

I like the different stuff. I can only hear the same JW and White Stripes stuff so many times.

I like Carole King.  Obviously Tapestry is a classic album and this concert seems to be a recording a few years later.  It could be really good.  I looked on Discogs and it doesn't look like this exists, so it appears to be a new release, which is pretty cool.  Who knows, this could be a really good Vault.

Just realized I forgot to cancel after 50. Happy to sell #51 if anyone wants it.

Just wait until the vault is announced before signing up in future. Sign up if its something you like and then make sure you always cancel within the 3 months no matter what. Really they should honour the vault perks for the full quarter, they never used to but I think they do now.

I love the ones Im not interested in, gives my wallet a break. Personally needing a complete break from any Third Man Vault. I hate when they suck me in with something.

They upsold me on the annual. it was the tidal discount that seems to make it a pretty good deal to take the chance since I pay for that anyway. However that is nowhere to be found either

I think Carole King (whom I don't mind but won't shell out $80USD for) + the vault price increase is going to cause an all time low in subscriptions this quarter. I'm not complaining about the increase per se - it's definitely warranted and expected in todays' vinyl market; but it's definitely a factor.

As I understand it, the price increase won’t take effect until Vault 52 which will be the one after Carole King (TBA in April). Price is definitely getting up there though.

That's true, but living in Canada, I already pay $65USD + $10 for international shipping, so I am already paying $75USD (not $80 - my apologies. I was guestimating the amount since I don't regularly subscribe).

and I think it's jumping $10 per quarter/$40 per year.

So I believe vault 52 will be $75 for Americans and $85 for Canadians. Not sure if Europe has a higher premium.

I'll be exiting..  I have enough live WS and live JW to last me a long time.  Now if the Jack white live stuff was well mastered, then I might think differently.  But so for, only the Bonnaroo show sounded good.  I still think that's the best vault they've released.

I agree, that was a good package.  I didn't love teh sound though.  It's a bit distant.  Not terrible, but not great.  I liked getting the second show on DVD though.  That's a nice bonus.

I’m a sucker for the kitschiness. Really appreciate stuff like this and NY’s A Letter Home where it’s recorded in a peculiar way.

This vault thing is confusing as hell.  Somehow I have ended up stuck with the Carole King vault coming out next.

I hope someone wants it on eBay.

I'll give the vault credit for making eBay sales very easy. Just slap the label on the unopened package and it's done.

Here’s how I look at it. I finally figured out the tidal discount isn’t automatic, you have to call/email. Now that’s sorted, i save 15 bucks a month as I used to pay 20 for tidal anyway.

I paid 240 I think when I signed up in December for the annual vault, I save 180 on tidal so 4 vaults this year costs 60 bucks or 15 per

So I’m less upset about a vault I may not like

good planning....it seems like I'm always a week behind the cut off date to cancel my vault subscription.  It just seems like they would have an easier way to opt in or out but I get it.

What I never liked about Third Man Vault is that your perks etc stopped as soon as you cancel. Not sure if they fixed that. I always signed up when packages were announced for the quarter, then at the the end of that month after the ordering period I cancel so I dont forget in a couple of months time. Usually the stuff is easy enough to shift on ebay it you dont want if but not sure about the Carole King one, thats a different market.

That’s good to know. I still have an unopened Jack White live Vault release) Masonic Temple, I think?) that apparently sounds like shit, and I haven’t even tried to sell it because of that reputation. Maybe I will try now, though.
