I came across this really cool article about this guy that designed a potential uniform for the Sixers in the early/mid 80s.

I think the overall look is pretty cool and would not mind them using this as a city edition in the future.

    That is hideous man...

I came up much better designs than that when I was in middle school. Used to doodle around with them around when the Sixers went to that garbage star uniform in '92ish. I liked the article though. Cool to see his thought process, as flawed as it was. lol

Hey @Poncier ...your team sucks. You think they'd have any interest in a Ben for Jalen deal? Seems like it could help both squads...

I believe Brown being traded (for anyone) has been shot down already.
Brown for Simmons is lopsided. Sixers would have to include more.

Yeah I know. They would be the centerpieces obviously. What do you mean shot down? Don't Brown and Tatum kind of do similar things though? I'd think Ben would fit better with Tatum.

Shot down by Celts management. The media here (much like what you just said) thinks that Brown and Tatum are too similar and trading one of them is the way forward. It was leaked a little while back that front office has no intention of trading either.
Of course things could change, but at this point it appears Brown wouldn't be on the market.

This has got to be the best stretch of basketball Embiid’s ever played. Last month or so since coming back from Covid. Just unstoppable.

If only our former point guard would've been able to do things like this...

He is going to need some serious help come playoff time though.

It always gets crazy different during the playoffs.

Of course. This is just a weird year because of the Simmons shit. If there is a trade at the deadline, it usually takes time for the new players to develop chemistry and stuff too.

He's been playing out of his mind lately though. Every aspect of his game is on another level right now.

I really like him and his game.  I want him to have a go to guy so he can advance in the playoffs.  I rooted for them and then they shit the bed...

It always astounds me to see a team allow that to happen with a player like Embiid.
Send a defender at him so he has to give the ball up in the backcourt (or maybe you get a turnover), you can't just let a guy who isn't a natural ball handler stroll up floor uncontested like that. But then again, Houston.

Yeah seems like an easy thing to stop. But maybe it's just because no other big can really do this that it just catches teams off guard.

So I think the Sixers do something before the deadline, but I don't think that involves Ben. I was thinking about it - but the Sixers gain a ton of leverage once the deadline passes. At that point he can't be traded and he's backed into a corner right? Basically at that point he just ends up losing sooooo much money the rest of the way if he doesn't play.

You really want that cancer playing on your team?  He left them high n dry.  I don’t see much chemistry there now.

Right...so the solution is to lose Ben Simmons for most of the regular season where he's a huge asset and gain him for they playoffs where he's a liability?

Who said he is coming back? And who said he's a cancer (other than media, and the perception of fans?). Seems like the team has moved forward, but all accounts from what I've read is the players would welcome him back (i.e. if he's here to play great, if not then out of sight out of mind).

They're not getting anything back in a trade that would remotely give you a net-positive/equal result in team performance. And by all accounts doesn't look like Morey is willing to move him for the sake of just moving him. I'm just saying let Ben lie in the bed he has made, and the path back isn't to hit the reset button. It's unprecedented that a guy fresh off of signing a max contract decides to dig in his heels.

At the end of the day - I just don't see another scenario where he isn't forced to come back.

I see a Boston Kyrie scenario coming.

I'd say the difference there is Kyrie played out his contract and was capable of deciding exactly where he went next. Looks like Ben's gonna be waiting until 2025.
