Yeah, my weekly occurrence included several record purchases. I’m sure I averaged 20-25 a month throughout the pandemic. LolTim Simmons said:
There was a good stretch early in the pandemic where I was getting a record a day. Then something similar has been happening but mainly because of record I’ve ordered between April and August have started shipping now. It’s not 1 a day, but 3-4 a week for past month and a half, yeah.1ThoughtKnown said:
I hear this…it was almost a weekly occurrence for me.Tim Simmons said:too many.
Assembling the Bowie Brilliant Live Adventures box set.
Whatever vault came out this year.
the 3 Taylor Swift records that came out this year.
Fela Kuti Box set 5.
Kind of Blue One Step (mine sounds terrific)
All those Levitation Sessions (Ty Segall, Oh Sees, Fuzz, Primal Scream) and their cool platter, color in color variants
Christ, I've bought a lot of records during the pandemic

I’m pretty sure that I purchased it in 2020, but my Sade box set didn’t arrive until 2021, so I’m going with that for starters. Now they just need to get Lovers Live pressed on vinyl.
All the Margo Price releases I bought this year, too. I was late to that party—only discovering her in 2021 when I bought her first record on a whim to get in on one of those “buy this many records to get a discount” deals—but she is fantastic.
Also, the Sugar Hill Records 40th Anniversary box of pure joy! It finally sat on the shelf long enough at a Massachusetts suburban mall shop to get a 50% off sticker. Ain’t nobody but me buying that where I live. :get_outta_here:
And I didn’t want to repeat anything from the favorite 2021 albums thread, but I still don’t know how to classify Prince’s Welcome 2 America, so I’m putting it here, too.
I was able to finally buy a Dylan Rolling Thunder Revue box, so that goes here for sure.
Oh, and I’m way too pumped about the Ghosts of Mars soundtrack. It is fucking killer!
Finally, VMP has really come through with some hip hop releases this year—in both its Essentials and RHH tracks. Much love for that!Post edited by dankind onI SAW PEARL JAM0 -

Tom Petty - Angel Dreams (RSD blue version). Didn't quite dig it the first listen, but it grew on me quickly. Really like this alternate version of the she's the one soundtrack.Metallica - Black Album boxset - Worth it for Live in Moscow. I'd heard the concert to 1.5 million people but I love listening to it on vinyl. So good.edit: I'd say Flag Day but the vinyl hasn't arrived yet
  I'm sure it'll sound amazing on vinyl.0 -

Not sure about Melbourne specifically, but I’ve bought quite a bit from Discrepancy Records over the years, they’re in VIC. They can be a little hit and miss at times (sometimes the prices seem high, others you can find some really good deals) but I’m always keeping an eye on their site to see what they get in.BrainofBGA said:Anyone in this thread from Australia? This is one of my wife's favorite bands. I've bought all the reissues for her except this one.1ThoughtKnown said:I must add:

They just sit on the shelf because she's afraid of using one of the turntables, so I skipped this one.

Christ, those my Bloody valentine reissues came out this year as well. Hot damn.

Awesome thanks @goldrush I was checking them out yesterday. I’ll have a look around post Xmas. Looking to expand my vinyl collection with some of my fave records other than PJ.goldrush said:

would like that sugar hill. Wouldn't drop retail bucks on it. I'll come by late tonight to borrow it. Way too many records purchased this year but I think my favorites were from the Tipitinas Record Club out of New Orleans. Lots of great NOLA music (mostly live) that I would never had bought if I wasn’t in the club. Great quality pressings too.www.RLMcDaniel.com

Most Discogs sellers have it discounted now, too. But I knew that if I waited it out at the mall shop, they’d drop the price.Loujoe said:

Did you pick up a Ghosts of Mars soundtrack on BF RSD?
(Also, just a note to RSD folks: If the stores are plentiful enough to have multiple suburban mall footprints, they should no longer qualify as independent.)I SAW PEARL JAM0 -
Nope on Ghosts of mars. Will keep it on my radar.0

I was trying to figure out my favorite album purchases of 2021 so I wrote them all down. Turns out I bought 81 albums this year. It’s a sickness 😊
Now I have to narrow down my faves.0 -

I went through that in fall/early winter of 2020. I wasn't spending money on concerts and roadtrips. I was down because of covid, so I ramped up filling in my record collection. Topped up all the Petty, Springsteen, Zeppelin, and a host of other stuff. I fell like I bought at least 100 records in that span... sigh... It's slowed down again. Most because I infilled a lot of stuff I wanted, so there's less gaps to fill now.
