The most I have ever paid for tickets in my entire life.Still.. I haven't bought concert tickets in 2 years. Plus the tickets for night 2 being all the way at the back were cheaper than I was expecting. Night 1 is on the main level.I really hope Covid doesn't cause issues with crossing the land border. Fingers crossed.

I got kicked out of my card after hitting pay like ten times. By the time I was back there were bullshit $600++ tickets. No thanks. I thought about it for a minute and can afford it but it fucking offends me.Anyone have an extra Seattle? Lmfao. If I knew where it was, I would take you there....there's much more than this.

I think it's automated. Platinum tickets use algorithms to determine the demand for the tickets and try to price accordingly.
In essence there's usually a gap between a ticket price and what a broker/scalper can sell it for. That's because many artists sell their tickets below cost value. Platinum basically tries to close this cap and earn what would normally go to a scalper/broker.
In this case though, with 10c and verified fan tickets only, and no transferring, you would think scalping would be minimal.

Yes, these are dynamically priced Platinum tickets sold by TM. I saw two first row balcony Seattle Night 2 seats go from $179 to $655 to $955 then back down to $655. Now has settled at $655. Luckily, I got my single at the $179 face value before the dynamic ticket pricing went into effect.KL159781 said:

So I signed up for Verified fan and did not get a code.
Now I can see Platinum tix for Seattle and the prices are a bit steep. Seattle 2 is showing tix from $510 - $990 for platinum pricing. I also see a few seats that are locked out to a code.
So does Verified fan mean you get first crack an steep ticket prices that go directly to ticketmaster now??? Had a friend that was looking without verified fan and they can't see any tix yet.
I did get a nice warning on the almost $2200 ticket cart that if I sold these I could only see them at face value. That is kind of funny.Raleigh, NC 8-18-92

oh wait, if we can't make the show (say to Covid) we can only resell them what would of been face value if they weren't platinum, or the face value (platinum) price we did pay for them? I missed thatjomary said:So I signed up for Verified fan and did not get a code.

to answer your question verified fan is basically a public onsale, except they filter who can buy tickets. You sign up for it..they view your transaction history on TM, algorithm's try and determine if your the kind of person who would use their ticket, and along with finite tickets, they send out codes to people to buy tickets at the sale time. In it's essence verified fan is basically a vetted public on sale. It's trying to keep people who just opened a new TM account or who frequently resell their tickets from being able to buy. it's not perfect, but I guess it sort of works.

Yes and no. The artist can certainly fight this, but TM/Live Nation can also require it for their venues. No platinum priced tickets = no venue.....no ticket distributionKL159781 said:

Live Nation is also the biggest concert promoter and traditionally offers a lump sum to the artist’s management for a tour. It is then up to Live Nation to recoup that money however they see fit. Clearly for Platinum pricing to occur, Live Nation makes that known to the artist’s management and has their okay.Eddieredder said:

i was just pointing out after the uproar over high face value prices for this tour, to me the fact that Platinum pricing was agreed to is far worse. It’s ironic over his stand against Ticketmaster 25 years ago, that Vedder is now allowing his own tickets to be scalped officially.0 -
Platinum existed for a small number of Vitalogy Foundation charity tickets for the spring 2020 tour, as well as Ohana Fest. Nowhere near as many available/set aside as other artists, but they existed.PJNB said:

It will if they’re not local. 😈tdawe said:
People keep saying this. The Beacon Theater is on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, on Broadway a block and a half from the subway. Nobody is driving there. Short of an apocalyptic blizzard snow isn’t going to stop anyone from going to these shows.speedskater said:
Wait to see if a snow storm hits or there is a polar vortex.tdawe said:
Yeah I’m not jumping on these now. There’s a pretty healthy amount of inventory on there, and it’s all scalpers - more tickets will come on as we get closer and regular people change their plans. I’ll be checking in several times a day between now and February.CP218430 said:I'm on Stub Hub and these tickets aren't going anywhere. If I feel the need to pay the price (which I probably will) I can wait until Feb. If I'm wrong I won't be out 500 dollars.
I’ll also be interested to see what happens to the ticket prices if rescheduled PJ dates are announced prior to these shows. My guess is not much, but it’s possible that demand could go down if people decide they’d rather try to catch Pearl Jam at the Garden.DC '03 - Reading '04 - Philly '05 - Camden 1 '06 - DC '06 - E. I too was shocked platinum pricing was an option. Its gross. Can't stress this enough.KL159781 said:

However, Its normal for the venue, promoter, and TM to take their share of tix. Then we know those tix often go straight to resale. Some bands even do that with their allottment. Whether they maximize value via platinum prices or resale of those tickets. They are going to weasal the $ one way or another. Platinum being an option very well may have been the concession for not allowing transfer or resale as well. Now consider this. Live Nation and TM are the same company. In a lot of cases they are the venue, promoter, and the distributor…
It isn't hard for them to flex their power and essentially make it impossible to tour.
Option 1: We get X number of tickets and can resell
Option 2: We get y number of tickets, no resell, but have platinum pricing
Option 3: Find another venue or ticket distribution optionPost edited by Eddieredder on0 -
It did for sure and at least that was for a good cause. Still hard to see some of the best seats with full rows going over $750 a ticket charity or not.tschav said:

The EV platinum tickets aren’t even for charity, and aren’t even that good of seats TBH.PJNB said:
